It's hard to imagine anything better than Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and Iron Man. Believable origin story stepped in real life politics… RDJ is one of our front runners no doubt

But there's also Christian Bale. He will always be, to me, "Batman". The dark knight trilogy was such an achievement in filmmaking. We saw for the first time a realistic, modern day version of Batman. A Batman who was strong but also weak.

I know the FOX X-men movies are a bit of a mess, but man, gotta love Patrick Stewart as Professor-X - through the campy movies and of course in the awesome "Logan"

That reminds me.. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine … hard to top

But gotta give credit to the king:

Who are some of yours?
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

I agree with Bale as Batman, Jackman as Wolverine, and Downey as Ironman.

I love Cavill as Superman and Hemsworth as Thor. IMO, they were perfect picks for those roles.

I also like Gadot as Wonder Woman, Reynolds as Deadpool, and Pratt as Star-Lord.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool is by far the closest an actor has gotten to the actual comic book character.

Agree with everyone on this thread (although I can't comment on Wesley Snipes as Blade since I've never gotten around to watching any of those).

Christopher Reeve is the King in this arena. Always thought he was a perfect Superman and Clark Kent. Henry Cavill was a better Superman than he was a Clark Kent.

As for Batman:

Thinking back to 1988 when it became news that Mr. Mom / Beetlejuice had been cast as Batman, there was a whole lot of public backlash to even the idea of Keaton as Batman. With everything he had to overcome, I think Keaton did a great job, and until Christian Bale came along, Keaton was the gold standard of Batmen.

This one I'm sure will get some guffaws, but it's my opinion that this guy:

did a great job of portraying an older, more jaded Batman, one who had lost who he was to a degree (he kills people now). And Affleck did a great job of building the Justice League (in Zach Synder's version of the movie).

Then we have Chris Evans as Captain America / Steven Rogers. He really captured what I always envisioned for the character - his moral compass, his leadership, and his fight for the Red, White, and Blue.

I gave up after Neegan showed up but for years the Walking Dead was my favorite show and Andrew Lincoln was awesome as Rick Grimes
