What are some important parts/concepts from movies that you missed the first time you watched it.

My biggest one was from "Up." In the first part, when we see Carl and Ellie in the doctor's office with Ellie crying, I thought it was them finding out they couldn't have kids, even though it just went through the montage of them decorating a nursery. My dumb self thought they'd decided to have a kid, then found out they couldn't.

It wasn't until years later, when I watched that with my daughter for first time, that I realized they had suffered a miscarriage. Both my wife and I teared up right then, because we'd pretty much lived out that scene.

I'm not trying to start ***t on a different subject but I think she was just infertile. Not out of the ordinary to plan on having hids and dressing up a nursery. Otherwise if it was a miscarriage wouldn't they just try again?

Maybe the news for them was both.

So many of these.

Truman Show:
You see a bottle of Vitamin D lying around the house, which makes sense since they never get natural sunlight living in a dome.

Scream:
Sidney immediately checks the mailbox when she gets home, out of paranoia because Randy had just talked about how Casey's liver was found in the mailbox after the opening kill.

Matrix:
You see the Architect's room in the first movie when Neo gets arrested and see him on the wall of TV's.

BTTF:
Most people know this one, but Twin Pines Mall becomes Lone Pine Mall once Marty gets back to 1985 since he ran over a pine.

BTTF 3:
Doc's scarf/bandana is his shirt from BTTF 2.

Jake Gylenhall is in the background of a couple of scenes in Spiderman Far from Home before Peter meets him as Mysterio.

Luke does a very quick inspection of the Emperors throne room when the elevator doors open in return of the jedi like he is contemplating how to handle a fight in that environment.

Red tells Andy about ****ty pipe dreams in Shawshank and then Andy escapes through a pipe filled with *****

The band that opens for Spinal Tap has a female lead singer that has a herpes sore on her mouth, a little later in the movie both David St Hubbins and Nigel Tufnel have cold sores on their mouths. Hehehe…

In Puss in Boots 2 at the beginning when Puss is fighting the giant, it's a blink and you miss it moment but Death is in the crowd watching him long before you actually meet the character properly on screen

Aragorn is putting Borimir's vambraces on after they send him over the Falls in Fellowship of the Ring, and wears them for the rest of the trilogy. It took me many watches before I realized this.

A couple of Star Wars favorites:

C3PO has one silver leg in the original trilogy.

I only recently put together that Ian McDiarmid not only played Palpatine in the Prequels and TROS, but was also the original actor for Palpatine in Return of the Jedi (and later added to ESB)

I have watched The Godfather Part 2 probably 30+ times in its entirety as it's one of my favorite films of all time.

I never noticed until someone told me recently that you can see Neri lifting the gun to shoot Fredo in the boat. I always thought that scene was 2 people fishing, Michael looking out the window, then the gunshot heard. I never noticed the gun going up to execute Fredo.

When I really zone in and watch a movie, I get distracted by how the non-speaking character in a conversation just stands there staring at another character during his monologue with no reaction or effort to butt in.

How in the world did you not recognize Ian McDiarmid in ROTJ?

Idk. I was a kid when I saw ROTJ. I always assumed that he was played by some older guy, not an actor in his 30's.

Then TPM comes out almost 20 years later, and I mentally associated Palp with a newer, younger actor.

In Up, she most likely had lead paint exposure, which led to miscarriage/birth defects that wouldn't allow her to have children.

They bought a house covered in it based on the age. Fixing up the house and then living there did them in unfortunately.

In Godfather 1, Michael is never wearing a hat (with the exception of his service cap). Then, when he becomes the head of the family, he starts wearing a hat.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

The Big Lebowski.......The Dude and Walter walk out of the bowling alley after the "mark it zero" incident. Walter is carrying the dog kennel, and the dog is walking beside him. He puts the kennel in the back seat and never picks up the dog then they leave.

In Apocalypse Now (1979) director Francis Ford Coppola, along with production designer Dean Tavoularis and cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, make a cameo appearance in which Coppola plays a TV newsreel director barking orders at Martin Sheen's Captain Willard to not look at the camera."

I think it was in Man of Steel where there was a brief shot of something, maybe a satellite, that had a logo of Wayne Enterprises on it. Of course, that hinted that Bruce Wayne was a part of this "universe", which later became the case in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Probably took a couple of viewings of MoS before I recognized that.

Gremlins when Billy's dad is at the trade show - during the start of his phone call, you see the time machine in the background, but when they flip to him later at the end of the call, there are people standing around an empty exhibit area as if to say the time machine left

I never caught on that when Kevin Spacey is introduced in the Usual Suspects, he is introduced as a con man, which should lead you to not trusting him. But of course, he's a really good con man (as a character and in real life), so you do. Also, at the beginning when they shown Keyser Soze lighting a cigarette, he's using a gold lighter, which is the same one Kevin Spacey gets when he is released from the station.

Also they morph Cavils face into Christopher Reeve for about 2 seconds as an homage when he is fighting the thing in the Indian Ocean.

First time I watched the Godfather, I didn't realize how big Lucy Mancini's vagina was. Always read the book first.

I'd rank it as one of the greatest movie tributes ever.

Stormtrooper hitting their head on the door. Never noticed it the many times I watched the movie as a kid. Then saw it in the theater re-release. Can't stop seeing it now
