It's part of his neo-western trilogy: Sicario, Hell or High Water, and Wind River. He also directed Wind River. His films tend to be much grittier and less soapy than his TV work. Those Who Wish Me Dead was a fairly meh adaptation from an awesome book, and it's hard to tell what's Sheridan and what was writers eliminating a lot of really cool characters.

Sicario, Hell or High Water, and Wind River are all so damn good.

Yellowstone is entertaining but it can get really silly and dumb.

Will give the interview a listen.

it's interesting hearing them talking about the Comanches, and how the US government would advertise to europeans to come move over here for "free land"

and all these new immigrants didn't even know what an "indian" was....

He did not, at least that didn't register during my listen.

Regarding Wind River, Renner was the perfect cast for that because I know hes an outdoorsy frontier kind of guy. I don't think he had to act at all to do all the hiking and snow machine scenes; he's just out there doing his day to day activities. No training required haha.

Couple of things stood out to me though…. Said wild hogs and javalina inter-bred and that he talked to a MIT scientist that they are generating power from cold fusion, just not on a large scale yet. To my knowledge cold fusion has never been achieved and wild hogs and javalina can in no-way inter-breed. They are not even remotely related. He was pretty sure of himself kicking those two facts out there. Thought that was interesting.

Lol they told Jaime to look the cold fusion, but I noticed that it was conveniently not brought back up.
