Saw on X that Jeff Lynne's ELO is making its final U.S. tour. Another icon from my youth is packing it in. Everyone I knew owned "New World Record" and "Out of the Blue."
Never been a die-hard fan but at the same time, I love just about every ELO song I've heard over many years. So the news led me down a rabbit hole.
Last night I watched "Wembley or Bust," ELO's concert film from 2017. Amazing performance. Thirteen-piece band, including Lynne, with three guitarists, three keyboard players, two cellists and a violinist.
Lynne's music is nothing if not complex. Not sure how much was on hard drive but it certainly looked like it was being performed live.
Interesting fact about Lynne: He is married to Camelia Kath, the widow of Chicago guitarist/vocalist Terry Kath, who killed himself playing around with one of his guns. She was also married to actor Kiefer Sutherland.
Any ELO fans on here?
