For the readers here…"Led Zeppelin" by Bob Spitz was one of the more interesting books I've read in the last year or so. Really crazy insight into the band. Some of it might make your stomach churn though.

The legend was that it was a shark but tour manager Richard Cole said it was a red snapper and he was part of the shenanigans. Supposedly Vinny Appice has it on video.

Interesting, will check it out. Have never been a huge LZ fan (but I do like a lot of their stuff), I'm a big sucker for music biographies. Will give this a read

I used to collect Zeppelin bootlegs back in the day, and it wasn't until I read "Hammer of the Gods" that I knew what "Red Snapper Deluxe" (Montreal '72) was about! LOL

The Zappa song Mud Shark is about that incident. My favorite part of Richard Cole's clarification is that the young lady involved happened to be a redhead so she matched the fish.
