LOL, terrible list is terrible and invalid. Only one Zeppelin album. No Alice in Chains or Soundgarden. Lauryn Hill, lol.

Not gonna discuss the list beyond that. The Emperor has no clothes, so there's no point in discussing the buttons on his coat.

No Pearl Jam Ten?

No Arcade Fire or Red Hot Chili Peppers?

And lol at My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy being above Kendrick Lamar or any other artist from that time, the album is top 10 all time.

Lastly, Hotel California was like 98. Come on.

Personally, for #1 I would have gone with Devo's seminal album, "Freedom of Choice," but I guess whoever made the list had a recency bias in choosing Lauren Hill.

Might be the worst list I've ever seen.
Not gonna give it a click or further discussion.

I'm 60 and not in their market demographic. But I listen to a lot of rock. A lot.

I have never heard of the #1 album or artist. Never. My reaction was literally "who?"

I have never heard of probably 1/4 of the artists in the list and have never gone out of my way to intentionally listen to 1/2 of these albums. In fact I would not know a tune from them if asked.

I guess the times they are a changin'.

That's actually surprising - I'm 58 and I've definitely more than just heard of her.

You may have heard of her another way though as the former lead singer of The Fugees (Killing Me Softly cover) before this solo album. And then she just stopped recording due to various personal and professional reasons.

Not defending their list at all but that is an amazing album. Truly a game changer and huge influence just not in your genre I'm sure.

But I've also heard of every album on this list - my tastes run the entire spectrum of music really including jazz, classical, and of course pop, rock, soul, funk, etc.

Nope. Never heard of her.

By tastes run what now would be considered a very narrow band. Rock mid 60's to I guess mid 90's overall, but including new albums for bands in that range.

I will also admit that when Green Day got inducted into the RRHOF (on their first attempt) I went "who?"

I remember when Miss Education of Lauren Hill came out. It was huge, and at the time people were calling it a classic... However, I feel like I rarely, if ever, hear about it nowadays. I do still hear The Beatles a lot. I hear something by Michael Jackson almost daily. I don't think I'd have a problem with it being on the list, but #1? That's just stupid. I bet if you went out to the streets, you'd be hard pressed to find people who can name two songs off the album. Ask them about Thriller, though, and most people can probably give you three or four songs easy.

Honestly, that's says more about you. Green Day was one of the biggest bands in the world for a decade.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is a top ten album of mine all time but that list is ridiculous. In what universe is Frank Ocean ahead of Stevie Wonder and "Songs in the Key of Life" which is the actual greatest album ever made?

I grew up on radio, 8 track, cassettes and CDs. I stayed with what I knew and liked. Sirius XM 25/26 is where the car mostly stays.

I missed most of the grunge bands. They came up after I grew up. It was just timing.

I also missed the whole "pirate music" deal. I bought albums. And later used iTunes to convert my CDs to early iPods. I never shared it online or got it from Napster. That phenomenon was after me ij the sense I wasn't in college at that time.

Top 25 ish is about right, imho.

All this kinda depends what you are talking about though. Popularity or influence or both? In popularity it would be much lower yes, in influence much higher.

It's like box office vs academy awards/critics choice.

Hell for me one of my favorite albums of all time is not even here and it was both critically acclaimed with several grammy noms and was a big success on the charts and in sales.

Peter Gabriel So is an amazing album start to finish.

Pet Sounds is widely regarded as the best album of all time in many lists. Seems like they purposely had it much lower just for shock value.

No Sgt Pepper

2, 3, and 4 are definite top 10s.

I'm a rock guy so a lot of the R&B and rap albums I dont understand.

Rumors and Pet Sounds definitely need to be higher.

I thought Frank Ocean was Billy Ocean from the 80s. Turns out he's a rapper my age.

Janet Jackson - Control - really? It was popular and had some hits at the time but I'll take "songs that didn't age well and you never hear anywhere" for $100.

Edit: a ton of crap to dissect that one just jumped out to me when I saw Joshua Tree and Paul's Boutique above it.
Staff - take out the trash.

Dark Side Of The Moon is legendary and was on the Billboard Top 200 for something crazy like 570 consecutive weeks back in the day.

It still gets play.

Can't believe it's not higher.
