Anybody else catch this last night or plan to this weekend?

It had a very familiar feel to me as someone who'd seen all their lore videos on their Youtube channel, but I think enough was explained that anyone coming in with no knowledge of any of that could pick up the pieces fairly easily. Just don't come in expecting a straight-up concert film.

Oh and they also dropped a new Papa Nihil single in the closing credits.

Ghost was absolutely the best concert I saw last year. Very fun.

I'm only vaguely aware of this though. Is it basically a concert movie with some added story elements? That's what the descriptions seem to indicate. Don't know if I'll catch it in theaters, but I'll definitely watch eventually.

have tickets for Sunday, vey excited to see what Tobias has created, and worst case in my mind it'll be a good concert movie.

Yep that's pretty much how it's structured, and those bits are built on and similar to the lore videos on the band Youtube channel. There is one amazing scene though that pays tribute to the "Scooby-Doo chase music" critique that's been applied to them on occasion.

I went and saw it last thursday. It was more concert than I expected honestly.. I mean once the music started, there was very little cutaway. Anyone expected a straight up concert film wouldn't be disappointed I don't think.

Not as much humor in it as I was expecting.. the lore videos on YT are full of little odd humorisms.

Saw them in a club in boulder in 2013ish, never would I imagine they'd have the success they have.

Saw this on Saturday and loved it. Of course, I think I would have said that no matter what was put on screen.

Only been able to see them once, this past August, so it was fun to re-live that show.

Happy that Copia didn't get axed -- he's been my favorite Papa to date. My guess is that, at least initially, Papa V is a blonde carbon copy of Papa IV based on the flashbacks.
