Chilling at Alamo waiting on a beer and hopefully a decent movie…but honestly just hoping my kids enjoy it.

First one is a classic…second one was still pretty good…third was meh (only saw once and had no desire to watch again)…

First Minions movie was not good and never saw Rise of Gru which I heard was fairly decent…

The fact that I know pretty much nothing about this movie should help!

I echo your sentiments 100%. Our kids grew up on Despicable Me / Minions.

My wife tried to get them to go with us tonight. They're 18 and 15 and hard eye rolled. I tried to get them onboard "for mom" but so far no luck. Maybe I'll just bribe them tomorrow.

The first Despicable Me is genuinely a classic family movie.

Well…..sorry to say it's not good…..like not very at all…..

Kids should enjoy but as a grown adult I'll never watch it again….maybe chuckled a few times but it was just a mess

that's disappointing to hear.

Between Pixar and Dreamworks I fee like we got to raise our kids in the golden era of kid/family movies. So many greats over the years. The last few we've drug our boys to out of nostalgia disappointed as well.

Definitely worst of the four, but I didn't think it was terrible. Just very mediocre, which is not bad for the 4th (actually 6th) movie of a franchise.

Surprised they went with a scene where gru is alone with a preteen girl in her treehouse. The preteen girl wants him to help her kidnap the school's mascot.

this is what i'm afraid of. kids want to see it and love all of the minion movies, but to me, who has always just been in the room while they have been streaming them, they seem extremely boring and stupid.

at least when we watch them at home, I can do other stuff.

In a theater, i will just have to endure the fart and banana jokes, in the dark, seething, and wondering when it is going to end.

Son: "So dad, what did you think?' Did you like it?"

Me: "Well…….did you like it?"

Son: "Yeah I really liked it,"

Me: "That's good"

Saw it yesterday. It was okay; definitely not as good as some of the others but still entertaining. Kids loved it, so that's really all that matters

Jesus, are people really pearl clutching over a Despicable Me movie? I literally didn't even consider that during the scene. Do you just go into a movie looking for things to get offended by?

They are offended that Gru is alone with a girl, but not that he spent most of his life as an international terrorist.

Yeah the tree house thing seems ridiculous to complain about given that this franchise kicked off by a single bad guy adopting 3 young girls.

Movie wasn't very good and unfortunately didn't feel like it tried to be. Seemed to try to rely too much on cuteness.

My 8 year old said it was "awesome and the best one of the series so far"*.
