Could not be more excited about this although admittedly I don't know who these people are other some of the writers work mentioned in this variety article.

If you are not familiar with Robert R. McCammon's Swan Song I can tell you it is one of the most amazing haunting post apocalyptic novels ever written - many myself included even put it above the master Stephen King's The Stand.
This book comes up a lot in discussions on here about what to read in the horror genre in particular.
It's an immense novel (the mass market paperback is 960 pages, my bigger page version is 860). So a series seems the way to go to do it's scope any justice. First published in 1987 it won the Bram Stoker Award for that year (dark fantasy/horror writing top prize) the first of his 3 wins for a novel.
I've read it three times - might be time for a fourth if a series is coming. I have ready almost all of his other books, some were also very good (Wolf's Hour, Mine, Baal, Bethany's Sin, Boys Life). But this one is incredible.
Hoping for the best here.
