Do you think the song Sex and Candy was a 3 Doors Down song?
This joke is in poor taste even if you had actually gotten the band correct.

Would you still call him Superman?

(If you can't joke about cancer, what can you joke about? Brad's been doing the Lord's work, being open about his faith. I think that's great, and I pray for him and his family.)

Terrible news. Great band of early 2000s. They had a ton of hits

Awesome band and super humble guy. I caught them again last summer with Creed and enjoyed the heck out of them. They even took a second to speak about the religious meaning of their song "Away from the Sun" and took a moment to pray over the crowd in that spot. It was a very moving moment and you can tell how authentic he was.

I caught them 20 years ago as well, and think they were with Breaking Benjamin, Staind and one other - and Brad was also so joyful and complimentary saying "Thank you friends" in between songs in the set. It was funny because it stood out with some of the other profane lyrics and sayings that were being shared by the other bands that evening.

Damn.

I saw them at Trees in Deep Ellum in early 2000.

Some band called Nickelback was the opening act.

I recently watched an interview on Youtube he did with his pastor talking about his recovery from alcoholism. It was pretty inspiring. He seems like a truly humble guy. I hate this news for him.

I caught them at a casino on my birthday when someone gave me free tickets a few years back. Great show, and my high school self would have been going nuts. He's turned it around the last 8ish years, but he did a ton of damage to his body before getting sober.

**** cancer.

Truly a class act. Ugh. Calling him a devout Christian is an understatement.

This video has some responses from people in other bands but also contains his message.

Oddly enough, I caught 3DD at the halftime show at Tiger Stadium between LSU and A&M back in 2015. They came out and sang three songs but the acoustics were so bad, I was barely able to recognize each song as it was being played.

That was a weird night. We had tickets in an LSU section close to the field and I camera-bombed a whole group of corndogs when the TV camera showed up in our section. Moments later, my phone started blowing up from people who saw me and my sister went into labor that night and gave birth the next day.

So, while it was a memorable night, it was an unmemorable performance by 3DD (not their fault) and the Aggies (Sumlin's fault).
