One of the good guys. Quit the entertainment business to become a cop. I almost named my daughter Julie.

Tiger Beat will never be the same…

I know 99% of you have no idea what I'm talking about…

Not me - I'm an old.
You're from down South,
And when you open your mouth,
You always seem to put your foot there.

Just to elaborate on that ...

The storyline of the Partridge Family episode was designed to set Bobby Sherman up for his own sitcom, called "Getting Together," about two songwriters trying to make it big.

But it aired against "All in the Family," I believe, and only lasted 14 episodes. A tough break considering the fact that Bobby Sherman was a huge star at the time.

Another fun fact: Sherman's inspiration for his career change to paramedic, reserve police officer and medical training officer for the Los Angeles Police Department was his guest starring role on the hit '70s show "Emergency."

Mom had some of his 45s when we were kids. My sister still has all of those. RIP, Bobby.

Sounds like he did good with his life. I will admit my only knowledge of him comes from the Simpsons.

Honest POV: I never know whether to be disappointed or pleased when young people's only reference to the pop culture of my youth is through mocking episodes of "Family Guy" or "The Simpsons."

"Oh yeah ... I've heard of Conway Twitty."

I guess it depends on the reference, but I don't think these references are meant to be mean-spirited. I would be pleased that my era's entertainment hasn't been forgotten, and I can laugh with any joke about Right Said Fred.
