The Backstreet Boys at the Sphere already saved it,

Play Wizard of Oz with the complete album of Darkside of the Moon as the soundtrack would be a sight to see at the sphere.

It's only good the first time thru the album. There aren't as many "coincidences" the second time thru.

In Vegas right now. Seeing a different show in the Sphere tonight but thinking about seeing this tomorrow.

Of all the stupid times to record in portrait mode, this may be one of the most egregious.

In the early 90's when I was in college I had a VHS tape called Beyond the Mind's Eye that was supposed to be virtual reality at the time and it synced up perfectly with Darkside of the Moon from the opening credits until the ending credits. My roommates and I may have tripped a couple of times and watched that. It was pretty cool back then.

I doubt they do LOTR. Too long. Have heard they shortened Wizard of Oz to 75 minutes for this version.

I'd watch 50 minutes of lotr on this. Just the battle scenes and pippin/merry discussing breakfast options. Take. My. Money!

They can cut it to 50 minutes if they take out the parts where people are just walking

Not even lyin, if they did SW I would fly out from Virginia to see it.

It would be worth it for the opening scene of the Star Destroyer alone.

Saw it tonight and it was pretty amazing. Not perfect especially the munchkin scenes but given the age of the source material and the format they are trying to show it in it was still impressive.

Some parts were better than others. Obviously the tornado scene is the star of the show. 4d effects fully employed! I also really liked the scenes with the apple tree and forests. Due to the screen going up over your head it really made you feel like you were in the forest. Well, that and apples falling on your head tend to help the realism.

I had went to the Unity show a couple days ago and each were impressive in different ways. Highly recommend going and seeing something there at least once.

That whole movie creeps me out. Thought it was bad as a kid then the movie Return to Oz was like, "hold my beer".

Let's just say 4d effects were employed there as well!

What the Sphere is doing is remarkable.

Backstreet Boys tix weren't going for less than $500 (and that's on the low end) every single night.

Yes you have to pay them nightly, vs licensing. But every studio with a library now knows how to take their cut first, because it's there.

The best shows/movies will be "made for the sphere". While Oz was great...what they did to the original source material...well, lets just say video purists would not be happy. "touched up" with AI is a bit of an understatement. That movie was about the potential of what the experience can deliver for a movie "event".

This would be incredible to see, so cool to see them taking advantage of an augmented format in a good way. Reminds me a bit of some of the DisneyWorld stuff where you feel and sometimes smell things happening around you.

Also, one of my good friends is currently working on visuals for an upcoming Sphere show that hasn't been announced yet, but from these comments a few of you posters would probably be pretty pumped about it.

Blink twice if "darkside" and "moon" describe the unannounced show

The Kenny Chesney show visuals were amazing. You could tell his team was taking full advantage of the environment.

It's what we all want and the walk up to it would be epic. Take my 200 dollars and the other 600 for my family.
