Anybody else start this yet? Through two episodes so far.

Jude Law and Jason Bateman are great so far. Bateman also directed it appears. Similar vibes to Ozark and tense.

I just watched the first episode. It's good enough that I'm still awake and started the second episode.

Not as intense as Ozark but definitely picks up in Ep2

Dull?

Long haired Bateman running over a coin thief twice in a Dodge K car is dull. O....k.....

Didn't know this had dropped but the trailer and cast had me wanting to watch, thanks for the heads up.

I just finished it. I really liked it. Had a lot of things where I said "damn!" During it.

I didn't find the first episode dull. But the 6th episode was really good. Ending was somewhat predictable, but it could've gone a few different ways.

It was definitely one of those shows where you think "wow, if they would've just done X, none of this would've happened."

Is this a limited series or one where they will have multiple seasons?

I'm two episodes in and it's pretty good. Not anything new re: storyline (at least yet) but I am interested enough to see how this plays out.

Only thing that has annoyed me thus far is the black jack double down hand....

That was extremely gut wrenching. There are more haha.

It's crazy how narcissistic these characters can be and are.

10 seconds out of an hour were great, the rest was just ok...so yes, it was a bit dull. Obviously you have to develop the characters etc so starting slow isn't a death sentence.

Really pleasantly surprised by this.

turns out if you make an original series without comic book CGI it can still deliver.

Jude Law and Bateman both changed their body types for the role- Bateman as a strung out addict looks emaciated and Law is probably the most buff and large as he has ever been.

I really despise just about every character in this series, so there is some interesting writing.

great acting, great musical score, and interesting themes.

Finished last night. Love plots with twists - more like a British series. I can't see a second series, y'all?

Note: I (Mrs. Schwack) actually lived on the top floor of the Russian Turkish Bath House in the 80's. It was not owned by Mancuso, but a couple of Russians - Boris & David. We had to pay our rent in cash & had to drink a shot of homemade vodka when paying.

Finished last night as well. Thought it was a really solid series. And, no, I don't see a second season. Not sure how they would do it anyway,
You're from down South,
And when you open your mouth,
You always seem to put your foot there.

I'm 5 episodes through, and have thought the same thing.

Hints of Ozark throughout as well...which makes sense with Bateman involved and Laura Linney directing.

I almost stopped watching it a couple times, because Bateman sabotaging everything was almost too much, and the spiral downward gave me so much anxiety. But so far, I'm glad I've stuck with it.

Good show. I always (mistakenly) thought Jude Law was a light weight. He's great in this

using a deaf guy as a Russian Mafia hit boss

genius.

the dread is even greater waiting for the interpretations!

the playing against type and plot twists are awesome.

you think that because it's Manhattan and every member of the cast is some minority that they would all be portrayed as saints

instead, every character in this show is a disloyal backstabber!

except maybe the daughter.

That was a great show.

The final meeting between the Deaf Mob boss and Jake was great....and no words were said.

what was the reason that at the end the Puerto Rican did not end up with Jake?

I didn't hear anything about that.

because she saw Wes was a better man?

This series kept my wife and I more entertained than anything in a good while. Didn't love the ending but not sure how else you could of done it.

I did want to know what Mancuso's relationship with the mom was. I almost wondered if I'm supposed to believe that Jake is his son. Vince was the dead fathers. Vince a screw up like his dad where Jake can make things work like Mancuso.

That theory has holes it in though because really Junior and Vince had so many parallels.

I think it was worth the 8 hours and await the next series that keeps me that invested.

Finished it finally last night. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Few twists and turns that surprised me but also kind of felt like I knew what would happen in the end.

Want to see more Bateman in series like this one. I can't imagine another season on this one, so hopefully something already in the works with him starring/directing.

I think she just felt like she needed a fresh start and probably felt a little betrayed because of everything that had happened.

I liked that Jake started back over with a bartending job.

Pretty solid, just finished it. Both the 2 leads did a really good job. Wife didn't like it quite as much but this isn't her type of show anyway.

I always like to find hidden gems like this that don't get the prestige TV hype and end up being really entertaining. The crazy twists and drama are just a fun part of the ride.

I'm watching it in small doses. Really good subject matter and the acting is top notch elite. But man, the anxiety and cringe is a lot to handle and I have enough going on in my own life that it makes the show hard to watch. I think I'm on episode 3 and I'm assuming it only gets more tense?

Loved the show, absolutely hated the very ending (aside from the confrontation between Mancuso and Jake). Just too dark and sad. To me it was "Mystic River" depressing...which works with Mystic River, but I thought was too much for this show. Just too heavy and an alternate ending would have been preferred but whatever. Great show overall.
