Oh no! He was just touring with Queensryche a month or two ago. I was hoping to see the show at Choctaw but couldn't make it work. RIP, Space Ace.

The only thing I wanted for Christmas 1977 was a bike and KISS Alive 2. It was a great day.

"...the hottest band in the world....KISS!!" And we had liftoff, straight into Detroit Rock City.

Were you my next door neighbor in far out suburban Houston? We wore the grooves out of that album in his family's game room, the ones they built over those 70's detached garages. Ahh...the memories.

I'll always remember Kiss as the first music I graduated to as a band/albums. Prior to that, music was just songs on the radio.

Ultimate Guitar

Tabs for thousands of songs. Also videos people upload and rock music news and other stuff. It's very handy

ok..I have that, but only the free version. I've been getting back into "it", and thinking about a subscription for those pro tabs.

My first concert at age 5 (went with my older bro and dad). That guitar solo left an imprint on my young brain. RIP Ace.

Since we're sharing, got the solo albums and a plastic KISS toy guitar for Christmas in '78. I was 4. My older brother promptly went out on the front porch and did his best Paul Stanley impression and smashed my guitar to bits.

We used tennis rackets as guitars, and an iron weight set as drums with cocktail stir sticks as drumsticks. Needless to say, everyone wanted to be Peter.

As a kid in the 70's, KISS was the first "hard rock" band I was exposed to. Became a fan, but not old enough to go see them until Ace and Peter had left and the makeup was off as well. Saw them on Animalize and a few times after but in '96 got to see the original lineup in The Summit. All had gotten back in shape and were very sharp. All pre '82 KISS songs with the traditional show. What a night. SOO glad we paid extra for floor seats up close for that show.

Also a fan of ELO, so really liked Ace's version of Do Ya as well.

RIP Space ACE.

Thumbs up, for you Ace and the good times listening, though.

Late 1975. I am over at the McNulty boys house and I am amazed at the poster on Mike's wall. It was from the Alive photo shoot. Early 1976, Mike and Kenneth both get a copy of the new Destroyer album from their parents. Kenneth gives me his copy. I run home and upstairs to our turn table. I spin the disc and from the first song, Detroit Rock City, I was hooked.

KISS became a life long pleasure that included over 30 shows, including several with our kids and family friends. It was an incredibly fun spectacle that delivered for nearly 50 years. Ace was my favorite and it has been a great week reliving lots of videos and memories.
