I get that the majority of TexAgs this is not your coup of tea, but it's all the craze right now

When you get past the smut, there's an actual storyline.

It's on HBO ( HBO picked it up from a Canadian company)

It's about these two star, rival hockey players who are in a situation-ship for like 9 years. The series goes on to explore their developing relationship til they realize they really love each other, but aren't able to come out of the closet due to being athletes.

Fun Fact: the guys who plays Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie- one of the main characters) is from Odessa

Is the actor portraying Shane playing the character as very subdued and dull or is he just not that good an actor?

Don't really care as I'm in it more for the smut. For a show that was apparently produced on a shoestring of a budget the production quality is pretty impressive. Although my hockey mad friends have said the actual hockey scenes are comical.

In the book, it alludes that he is on the spectrum, after knowing that, you notice it in his mannerisms( they way he folds his pants when he takes them off) and his eyes are super expressive

Hudson and Connor did such a good job. Their acting wasn't over the top and I absolutely loved it.

I started this over the weekend to see what all the fuss was about, not expecting to be particularly invested.

Well, I finished it last night, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Legitimately impressed with how good the show actually ended up being, and how quickly it grabbed me.

It was episode 3 that really reeled me in, and then the great payoff in episode 5 for both of the storylines.

Overall it definitely falls more on the "Call Me By Your Name" side of things than the trashy/smut "50 Shades of Grey" side of things, which is what I was expecting. (I would say the first two episodes do fall more into that latter category.)

Glad I stuck with it though.
