I searched on here but didn't find a thread.

Watched season 11 on Netflix, then S7 on Prime, now watching s8.

10 contestants, they drop them off in a remote area (s11 and s7 are the Arctic), and they have to build a shelter, forage/hunt for food, and deal with the isolation. No one is voted off, people just tap out to quit. The person who lasts the longest is the winner.

You're watching people mentally break down as they slowly starve, but the bush craft skills, primitive knowledge, and frontier living is interesting to watch.

It's also fun picking out who is going to quit first.

The one on NF now is pretty good. I've enjoyed most except for the Australian one. I found that one terrible.

I think they're on season 12.

I watched s11 because it was on Netflix, then watched s7 because they referenced the Rock House in s11. Granted, I picked the winner in s7 in the first episode.

They reference 'drop shock', and I think a lot of it is simply realizing that yes, you are totally alone, and yes, this is real. A big difference from doing it at home when you know if things get hard, you can just pack up and go home.

I only found the one thread on S12, I had to stop reading it because of the spoilers.

Looks like I need to watch a few more seasons before I read through that thread.

I honestly think if he wanted to, Roland could be one of the most successful serial killers in American history. No one would ever find his victims or him because he could literally disappear into the wilderness.

This is true, lol. I'm not saying that I could win, but there were some really weak contestants in the first couple of seasons.

the Mexican guy was the best- I just drank the water - no boiling no nothing - he said I am from Mexico

My wife and I watch these along with her parents and do a game. Everyone gets to pick their top 3 who they think will win and top 1 of who will drop out first.

Pretty entertaining.

We just do it for bragging rights but makes you root for people and have a dog in the fight.

I've watched every season so far. Husband and I joke about these idiots who think all they need to do is run their stagnant water through moss to filter it.

I think the most recent season was in Africa. I had really high hopes with the change from typical snowy, cold locations. But it was a letdown.

It is interesting to me that these people are out there hunting and foraging, and yet worried about people online judging them.

Matt's complete meltdown screaming about starving for people's entertainment was something else.

I'm pretty sure if you simply count the number of times someone mentions the word 'family', the more often they mention it is an indication they're about to quit. It's a common theme.

Michelle looked like a damn concentration camp survivor when she tapped, she tapped for the right reason. A few more days out there, and she wouldn't have survived.

Have you seen the behind the scenes footage? With all the houses? There is one where a soccer ball jumps into the scene and a little kid runs and grabs it then runs off again.
