I had never even heard about this story before we watched this a couple years ago. There is another show on Hulu called Candy which is the exact same story. I liked this version better, but what a wild deal this was.

John bloom aka Joe bob briggs wrote the book on which this is based. I think he was a reporter for Dallas morning news at the time

what is crazy is that there are hundreds of even more crazy true life murder mysteries in the 45 years since this one took place.

but it was amazing how they recreated the world of Texas in the late 1970s.

I remember phones that you had to spin the dial and typewriters and station wagons!
