This is based on a web series that is based on a random post from 4chan ages ago. The web series has something like 100MM views and was made by a kid starting when he was 14. That same kid, now 19, is directing this movie for A24. Pretty wild. The web series is a lot of found footage as well as footage from scientists and a company exploring the backrooms. Lots of lore around it and it's a pretty cool story but mostly appeals to the younger generation I believe. The movie is supposed to tie in to that but also be completely standalone.

Looks like a spinoff of The Chair Company.

This is the YouTube series this movie is based on. It's pretty crazy that this dude made this all with blender and a couple other tools. Essentially none of it is real, outside a few shots. Dude is very talented.

I saw part of the trailer last night while watching UFC, and for a second I thought it was a teaser for S3 of Severance.

I looked at the first two pages of the board and didn't see a thread. Not wasting my time with TA search function.

already got tickets. my daughter really wants to see this. I'm skeptical at best.
