when is burn?


when will the website be updated?

in general...

• cut - late september to end of october/very early november (you must attend a cut class before working bonfire)
• stack - end of cut to days before burn
• burn - prior to the t.u. game (although county wide burn bans have caused concern in the past. SB works only within the confines of the law.)

the specific dates set by the Student Bonfire orgnization are updated to their website (www.studentbonfire.com) later in the year.

How do I know you are getting old, preshy boy? When the current sophmores are telling you that burn is prior to the tu game...

And not just over the summer. My pisshead year it rained every other day June thru July and when Burn rolled around we were under burn ban. Until it poured 2 inches that weekend and we got to burn the following tuesday. Wouldn't mind a Stack session in the mud myself...*thinking of Neeley*....

I'd rather think of a dorm that doesn't have any guys it in at all...

Guarantees for next fall:

It'll burn at dark thirty sometime before the game.

Cut will start between 1 and 4 weeks after the first day of class.

Between 600-1800 unique participants will help cut down the trees & build the stack.

Stack will be going 'ahead of schedule" until the week before burn which will be a scramble to get it done and the site prepared for burn.

The skyhook won't come in time to dehang the tree before the reds see it.

The Toucans will be migrating through Brazos Valley once again.

but who ended the year with the tree lean indicator?

I was hoping to fell a tree at my grandparents farm and needed to borrow it!!

I believe redpots took all of them felling their behemoth.

that massive tumor on the side of stack? yah probably. the question then becomes: are they gonna stick us with the old standard equipment, or upgrade to the metric digital TLI's to try and make cut a little easier for the foreign students?

i refuse to accept any standard tree lean indicators from my fish... metric is the way to go

I go by the old standby of the IDXT-B8.

BBYD09 - do you prefer the red or the blue? I always preferred the red left handed #2 metric. But that always seemed to be the hardest one to find!

we prefer using the left handed brown tli in metric of course.

the best TLI is an axe...

if it falls the way you wanted it to, that's the way it leaned.

we made a pretty good one one day using some limbs we cut from a bigass tree and some random string from a fish's shirt - weighted with an axe of course. we determined the tree in question would fall uphill, but as that was 'impossible' we thought it had to be wrong. when it fell uphill we realized we were smarter than even we realized... and my god has that gone to our heads...
