But nowhere on that page does it say which university isn't sponsoring Student Bonfire. Of course, everyone on this forum knows that. And if we didn't, the subject matter, the maroon page background, and phrases like "beat the hell outta t.u." are rather large hints. But is there a legal reason for not mentioning Texas A&M?

i think if it were a legal matter they would have to put the school name...

one way to get hits for things you AREN'T affiliated with is to list all of the common phrases that "shouldn't" be assocated with your website...

if you'll notice, the word "Aggie" doesn't appear anywhere either...

Are y'all going to create a facebook event? I searched for one but could only find last years burn. I could really help boost attendance numbers tomorrow night.

Yes.

Solely from my own personal work with the legal industry, you must protect the use of your name, trademarks, and likenesses in order for them to remain proprietary. I'm sure TAMU has retained the services of a law firm to respond to individuals who attempt to infringe on their copyrights.

That said, I'm pretty sure that an organization like SB would (and has) take(n) every precaution to avoid anyone confusing it with an organization that TAMU recognizes, sponsors, or associates with to anyone SB comes in contract (to and above the extent of omitting TAMU references from their website).
