I would like to personally thank the generous individuals and groups who have found it in their hearts to donate to Bonfire, especially in the most recent year. Your generosity is beyond compare and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I feel that Bonfire is the most worthwhile of Aggie traditions to give to and I am glad that you feel the same. Your donations are allowing today's students to experience leadership and tradition first-hand. I have worked beside these students and can testify that they are forever changed for the better by Bonfire and have you Donors to thank. I'll thank you on their behalf.

Dispite the numerous other causes tugging on everyone's charity this year, the donations in August were more than any non-November month since 2003. Wow. There were some predictions early on that indicated that there would be some cash flow issues this year, but those have disolved because of your donations. Thank you.

For those of you who have donated, let me say thank you one more time. To those who have yet to donate and are waiting for the call, here it is. Bonfire needs your help. Please visit www.studentbonfire.com, tour the site, and use one of the various means to donate to Aggie Student Bonfire this year.

You're SO welcome Opie. This is only my 2nd annual donation, although I've been coming to TexAgs since right after the '99 Stack tragedy. I'm not associated with A&M, but have NEVER encountered a more honorable, generous, FAMILY of people (that I've never met-lol!). I think the traditions that help shape all who attend are PRICELESS. I envy all of you. In todays social, political, economical, etc. climate, A&M should be the model. I also think that the "Tim Kerlee-12th Man" thread should be REQUIRED reading for ALL young people. I visit TexAgs every day, and appreciate the "segway" you provided for me to (once again), post my admiration and respect for this great institution and the people associated with it. Thank you. Good luck with Bonfire '05, and PLEASE MORE PIC'S!

No single donation made it a monumental month. Just like Bonfire is the sum of the labors of many, the financial success is attributable to the sum of many donations like yours. Thank you.

To everyone else: Please feel free to express your thanks to our Donors here. They are making the same impact on Bonfire with their checkbooks as you are with an axe.

As someone who knows the inner workings of Bonfire, I offer a heart-felt-thanks for everyone that has donated money, time, equipment, support, and knowledge. Without your continued support the great tradition of Bonfire would not exist today.

We couldn't continue and we couldn't serve your days at A&M justice by perpetuating what is/was important to you without your generosity. As Opie said, it all adds up - and we're greater in sum than in parts. Your investment will be returned to you intangibly more than 10-fold.

Actually, I'd beg to differ about the intangibility of it.

The smiles, warmed by the heart of Aggie Tradition, singing the War Hymn as Bonfire blankets the crowd in soft hues of yellow and orange and white light is pretty damn tangible.

I'm an annual donor to Bonfire and just made a contribution in Oct. In the past I always got some type of acknowledgement that the money has been received, but nothing yet this year.

Building the Bonfire is thanks enough for me so I'm not looking for thank you cards or anything, just an indication that it made it to the Bonfire fund. I used the Paypal link from the site and in my transaction history is just some guy's name, but I don't see that same name listed anywhere on the Leadership page of the website.

I only sent it a few weeks ago and I'm sure this is a busy time, but any way to determine a donation is making it to the effort?

Build the hell outta' Bonfire.

GUR,
I made my contribution the same way you did, and received a written "thank you" in the mail a few weeks later. Like you though, "recognition" is not what I seek. I'm just a huge fan of A&M and think Bonfire is worth supporting for ALL Ags, past, present and future. Good luck Aggies. AND MORE PIC'S!!

Thanks for the tip. I think I've gotten those in past years and I'm sure they'll get around to it this year too (as mentioned I just sent the donation two weeks ago). I don't think I would have asked if I had seen the name of the Paypal recipient on the Leadership page of the website, but I saw this thread so I thought it would be a chance to inquire.

To all who are building the Bonfire, keep up the good work and thank you from all Aggies everywhere.

GiveUsRoom: Post your initials and I'll verify that we got your donation.

If you gave on or around Oct 25th and your inits. are D.N., E.M., A.R., or S.M., we got your donation. Thank you very much!

EDIT: The name on the Paypal account was the treasurer of the Board of Directors of Aggie Student Bonfire, which is public information and is listed here:

opie,

Thanks for the post of initials. You answered my question. Just wish I could send more. I am coming in from TN and planning it so I hit town the afternoon of the 19th so I can see it burn.

Can't wait.

Just a suggestion...

more pictures = more donations

When people can see the progress and effect of their potential contributions, they are more likely to offer support.

Thanks again to all. Oh, and as of today, November is on pace to bring in more than any previous year.

In the words of a recent donor, "Keep it up. I think what's going on is awesome."

I couldn't agree more.

BTHOB'05

p.s. I'll do my best to snap some pictures with my phone this weekend and post them durning push week. The pictures are out there, as I have seen lots of people working the cameras. I'll make a note of it on the "pictures" thread on this forum.

Mr. Morrison,

I remember your name from last year. Thank you very much for your faithful contributions. I know that my Jr. Greens have been very busy but from what I understand have been writing thank you letters. I apologize that you have yet to receive acknowledgement other than from this thread. We're having a meeting this evening and I'll check up on it to see if they need a hand.

And to all, I'm sorry that there haven't been more pictures. I have some that need to be uploaded from my camera at home, but I've been busy with trying to solidify a few details for burn night (as well as trying to finish my semester project that's due 2 days after burn... YAY!), so they haven't made it up because we're stretched pretty thin right now. This is something else that I will bring up in the meeting tonight. In any case, I would look for more pictures being up by Saturday night. Thank you for the heads up.

A-Whoop for stack starting tonight!

The donations have been coming in from the corners of the Nation! The most recent donation was all the way from Landenberg, PA; while another came over from San Francisco, CA!!

Thank you so very much!
