Now that it's all settled, the real beneficiary from this whole mess will be Aggie Student Bonfire.

They just became the big story all over the Brazos Valley and EVERYONE is now aware of burn tomorrow night.

Lesson learned for next year #1.

Recruit local VFD's for some "training exercises" next year.

The lesson learned is to have a specific clause written into the burn ban. ASB is a tax-paying business entity in the county whose sole whole ability to conduct business depends on being able to light 1 fire. To prevent this does no good, and is completely out of line with the purpose of a burn ban. You have a right to be excluded and next year and beyond you better lobby to protect the interest of your business.

Amen, to all points. I was thinking that you can't buy this kind of publicity. Well, you can, but it would cost a fortune.

So instead of placing blame, let's send a thank you?

DougBob, I'm just curious. Do you support Student Bonfire? I know it will never be what it was, but do you think it's on it's way back to being all it could be? And back on campus?

Yes, and yes.

Who knows. That's up to the administration and what they decide to do after the litigation is settled. I think having Governor Perry in office will be helpful, however.
