This was a pleasant evening for my family. We met another couple we knew and between us we had seven children in attendance.

It was a very nice family atmosphere. We saw no alcohol consumption, heard no profanity, and experienced nothing objectionable at all.

(Edit: Will D's Rock joke was a bit on the blue side, but since my wife liked it and the kids didn't understand it, we had no objection. But he should keep his day job. He also does a damn good job of designing bonfires, albeit fire resistant ones.)

The students who took our tickets and directed us to parking were courteous and helpful.

Given all the brouhaha about the burn ban, it was obvious that no damage was done to adjacent property--nor did there seem to be that much of a threat in the first place. Given the the calm winds and the fact that the fire seemed to burn out rather quickly, there wasn't the typical blowing of embers that other Bonfires have featured. The Bryan fire department was there but worked about as hard as the Maytag repair man.

So, ldyaggie, it looks like your house was spared. In my opinion, there was little go get alarmed about in the first place.

Nice job, ASB.
