seems like the appropriate forum for this:
my little guy is having surgery this week to remove cholesteotoma from his ear. Seems to be a pretty big one, and they plan on removing bones and all (total hearing loss).
Would appreciate any prayers for the surgeon and for him and his recovery

Will he be single-sided-deaf? I've been SSD for 10 plus years due to a tumor. It can be challenging.

Prayers for your son's recovery. Prayers for a smooth recovery and only partial hearing loss.
My husband has had two cholesteatomasone as a child and the second in his 20s (he's now 58). The one in his 20's was very large (a doozie as the surgeon said). He has worn hearing aids since then. It stinks to need them but they are truly a miracle for his hearing.
