In Argentina a man who thinks he's a woman "married" a woman who thinks she's a man (I don't mean to be disrespectful but the other terms are super confusing in this context) at a Catholic Church presided by Catholic clergy in the appropriate rite.

They claim to have gotten approval from the local priest and Archbishop, but it appears the diocese only approved the wedding based off of the precepts of complementarity, and no further information was provided to them before the ceremony.

Once the word got out (as the couple was not very Catholic and used the church as a prop to generate 'visibility" the Archbishop nullified the ceremony with discipline to follow.

Obviously I agree with the decision but it will be interesting to see which route their formal objection takes.

Will read the article and it may be covered there, but there are classes, retreats, and interviews done a year in advance. Odd that they worked so hard to deceive the church and people around them. Not odd that they sought out the Catholic Church to do this as marriage is a sacred sacrament, indissoluble.

It's also odd those within the church itself allowed themselves to be deceieved.
