I've recently had this guy pop up in FB reels. Apparently he is a preacher that claims to consistently receive visions from God as to the future. God showed me this, God showed me that.

Has anyone else heard of this guy? My initial reaction is "why you"? Of course, God can do whatever he wants, but this guy has story after story after story. Just curious as to anyone else's take.

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son.

Deut 18: 21 You may say to yourselves, "How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?" 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.

This is pretty simple. A prophet is someone with a message from God. Prior to modern communications, messengers were the primary means for rulers to give orders. However, any yahoo could claim to be bring orders from the ruler. So the messenger had to show some sort of bonafide. Usually this was an object like seal that only the king's people could use, or the messenger was also someone famous and powerful in their own right.

God just adopted the human system here at Israel's request. They did not want to hear directly from God. It was too terrifying. So he sent messengers (prophets). But the same custom applied. Any yahoo can claim to be from God, so God have his prophets proof. This proof was always something miraculous, either a physical miracle or vison of the immediate future that comes to pass.

Gideon asked an angel for signs for proof he came from God and received more than one. Elijah called down fire to prove he was sent by God. Messengers from God carry proof they are from God. If they can't give a miraculous sign then you can safely ignore them.
