With the reports of Biden's new 6 TRILLION dollar spending plan, I thought I would post this here. The last few months, everyone has seen the word inflation in the news. It is starting to finally show itself... and I don't think it will stop anytime soon. I made a post in the investing board on silver and how good of a play it is right now. If you have some time I really urge you to go check it out. I love gold as well but the potential with silver is crazy. Silver has the largest short position on earth right now. The banks/COMEX crush silver and gold down because they can't afford for them to rise because they both crush the dollar. However a huge movement is happening with silver right now. People -all over the world are finally waking up on how garbage fiat currencies are (crypto has a lot to do with showing people that... so thank you crypto) and now people are stacking real wealth. Head on over to the other board and it's got an in-depth discussion with charts and graphs on the potential of silver.

Feel free to ask any questions you have and I will answer them.

Thanks

The first rule of silver is don't talk about it

I agree. I buy some 4 or 5 times a year, and have been since 2008

If you're buying metal to protect against the downfall of the USD: buy lead.

Good point. Gold and silver bullets are expensive, and really only more useful than lead when dealing with vampires and werewolves.

Buy lead...it's becoming more rare than both gold and silver.

Most people who stack precious metals also stack ammo and guns. You have to be able to protect your wealth.

Where can you buy non-physical lead? I'm not keeping a metric ton of it in my back yard for a rainy day.

Why people think any metal other than brass and lead will protect their wealth is beyond me.

Buy Texas real estate.

And guns and ammo.

With 180 grain lead, that's 85,722 rounds. If you need that much lead, we're ****ed.

You can buy the physical metal at a bullion dealer or you can buy an ETF if you aren't comfortable in holding the actual physical metal. PSLV is a great buy right now. Never buy the ETF SLV.

JMBullion and SD bullion are very reputable dealers online.

Lots of ways.

If you don't want to deal with physical delivery, then the Sprott physical silver ETF is a good bet PSLV.

You can buy physical from apmex, monument metals, deplorables metals, jm bullion, Scottsdale mint. All reputable places.

Or buy stock in silver miners.

Or buy 90% pre-64 US silver coinage from your local coin shop, ebay, etc.

Started stocking silver and buying silver etf's as well as gold.

Just recently paid off enough student debt to start doing that with my excess income.

Wish I had been able to start doing that a year ago.

It's not just about protecting your wealth. It can be about increasing your wealth.
For the past 15 years (example), it has pretty much fluctuated between $14 and around 28 or so. Except for that run up to almost $50 which happened quickly and then eased back down. But fluctuating between $15 and $19 or $24-28 is pretty common. Buy low and sell when you get your 16-26% interest. Buy the coin/bar/?? with the lowest premium and sell it when the time is right. Do it a couple of times a year. Where else are you going to get a pretty much risk free return like that?
There are plenty of sites where regular joe blows buy and sell to one another so you don't have to go through the low-balling the on-line dealers will offer.

Actually I got lucky. In 1969, I bought silver at face value when I was a cashier at HEB. I kind of knew this day was coming, but I had a good role model whose example I followed. I won't mention her name, but she was the wife of a wealthy landowner in the hill country.

I like to buy silver and make **** out of it, like these Morgans. I usually carry one around as a good luck piece. Silver is just beautiful.

What do you do with the remainder? Looks like you lost at least 1/2 of the value by ruining them. Why not do that with wood or aluminum? Why ruin a good silver dollar?

Common date Morgan's are only like $8 over melt, not a lot of extrinsic value. If he kept the filings, then very little value lost.

Lots of people carry around a 'pocket piece' of silver. I keep some on my desk at all times that I fidget with. Just something magical about silver.

I make coin pendants as a hobby. I would argue they are worth more now than before. I keep the scrap to melt down and use on other pieces. Most of the stuff I make use modern coins but I'll use some silver pieces I make for for myself.

Do you do commission pieces? My daughter graduates high school next week and would love to give her a 2021 Eagle with her initials or something. Obviously not happening by next week.
