So how cheap is our post office?

Well, if you ship ground advantage they actually have a policy that prevents them from using their roll of packing tape sitting right there next to them since that is reserved for higher paying customers...and all I needed was a few inches worth! Instead, they will tape up your package and put the label (in my case a pre-paid return label) on with scotch tape...which probably cost them more than the packing tape.

The fact that they have trained their employees in this policy is just mind boggling...and probably cost them more than they are saving.

The thought had crossed my mind but the old geezer working the counter was clearly one of us good guys and sympathized with me on the decline of our country. He was probably only being video recorded without audio lol

You had to take an postal exam.

Hundreds would apply for one opening. I took the exam and got an offer as a rural carrier. I turned it down cause I worked for a major oil company and was making quality money. Only reason I took the test was my brother was taking it and I helped him study for it and took it just to see it. He never got an offer and I never told him I took the test.

Not my choice - it was a prepaid return for a wrong item that was sent to me.
