This should not infringe upon First Amendment rights, but I get pissed off when I hear that colleges are cancelling classes and ceremonies as a result of these activities. Students, parents, and taxpayers have paid for the educational processes at these schools, and these a-holes are disrupting that process.

If the damage is significant above a set amount then yes they can classify property destruction / criminal mischief / whatever the legal term as felonies. Charge all participants for cost to cure.

It should be criminal for the coward administration of these schools to cancel events and cave to the demands of these idiot protestors.

I am not talking about property damage. We already have laws for that. I am talking about students and taxpayers who paid to get an education and then their classes are disrupted, rescheduled, cancelled, etc.

Setting up unauthorized encampments, violating school policy, destroying property, intimidating other students and disrupting classes isn't "civil", hope that helps.

I believe it already is against the law.

Peaceful assembly means peaceful. The very second you encumber or disrupt the lives of others it is no longer peaceful.

Don't block traffic, don't prevent normal operation of private employment or public facilities. Seems simple.

It wouldn't be a problem if they'd just make more tear gas.

If the UCLA, Columbia, et al were peaceful protest then there would be no disruption, rescheduling or cancellations. So your question is rhetorical at best.

But if there are no laws on the book you must be creative to make examples of the UCLA and Columbia rioters.

Nobody takes education serious anymore. Mike Slater talked about this very topic this am.

If an individual is paying for services, they should draw up a contract that states as such. If enough individuals decline services without that contract, things will change. Or Pearson, Spector, Litt needs to be involved.

Force the universities to refund the non-protesting student's money... That would halt the "free speech" protestors in a heartbeat.

yes, any student should be expelled who commits illegal blockage of access to classes or libraries or graduations

we are seeing the same dummies whining about "checkpoints" in Judea and Samaria now SETTING UP CHECKPOINTS at UCLA and MIT to stop Jewish students from moving around campus

another issue as anyone with eyes can see- a huge number of these Hamas supporters are NOT STUDENTS

they are in their late 20s and thirties. we have found the wives of well known Hamas terrorists at Columbia, 70% of some protestors are NOT students!

Law doesn't matter.

If you're aligned with the government oligarchs you get a pass.

If you disagree with them, you get tossed in jail asap.

Do you think any conservative movement would have been permitted to do what these left wing marxists have been permitted to do?

Not really. All they need to do is enforce the laws they already have.
