Officer Taylor is/was an Austin police officer

He's on trial in the 2019 death of Mauris DeSilva, 46. Police shot and killed DeSilva in a common area of his downtown condo complex.
I think this is already a retrial of the same case.
Further, Taylor was also put on trial for the 2020 death of Michael Ramos during a police confrontation at a southeast Austin apartment complex. That trial ended in a mistrial.
Today, Jurors paused deliberations in the case of an Austin Police Officer accused of deadly conduct after a bailiff noticed some had their cell phones and a laptop open while considering their verdict. The jurors were doing this in the jury room while deciding on the verdict.
Now, if I were a betting man, I'd bet money on the Austin justice coalition pressuring jurors to get to a guilty verdict. The defense counsel has already briefed the court on the likelihood of juror intimidaton, especially since Taylor was also at the center of the case Austin leftist wanted to turn into it's own George Floyd.
I don't understand how this cannot be declared a mistrial

Judge Dayna Blazey put the court in recess to consider the matter and decided to deny the motion for a mistrial. She ordered 12 copies of the jury instructions be printed and handed to jurors.
