Two of my side hustles rely heavily on the Postal Service for delivery. In the last five days, packages are not being scanned in anymore. I have tried different drop boxes at different locations as well. I have never had a single package not scanned in within twenty-four hours, in the past.

Have they fired more employees other than Dejoy? Is this the government fighting back and trying to make issues for customers?

Not sure what's happening with USPS - I know we had a lot of USPS changes here in Aggieland with complaints posted on the Aggieland Forum.

We've had outstanding service here since we got our current carrier (who started sometime before Covid).

I wonder if USPS will be better overall if it goes to Commerce Dept?

There have been massive changes with the USPS in the last year so while you certainly could be seeing some quiet protests by union people you could also be seeing an accumulation of a lot of changes that have occurred. Probably a why not both situation.

The USPS killed most of their corporate discounts they gave to third party logistics companies who were moving mail which was an entire cottage industry in the logistics space that plugged into the USPS. Lot of that went away in the last couple of months so now you have the USPS carrying more of their own load through the whole journey.

They also removed all mail from commercial airlines about a year ago. So all that middle mile speed went away as well.

Needs to also remove the Secret Service from under DHS and back to just focused on its one job again; whether under Treasury or its own.

Friend mailed me a simple first class letter from Central Texas the first week of January... I did not receive it (in Collin County) until last weekend, Feb. 15th.

I recently got a package which should have taken 3 days to arrive, but it took 14 days. It ended up going back and forth between a few post offices in other states.

Sounds like many of you are just now experiencing the level of service we've had in Houston for years. I'd say the most common is to mark something delivered on the promise date and them actually deliver it when they get a chance. But for a while, when they were really swamped (that's a whole other story), they'd just take a package off one truck and throw it in another headed out of town. Your tracking would show it arriving at one of the big central facilities, disappear for two weeks, then surface in Louisville or other location.

I only get past residents mail and junk.

Have a family member that works for USPS and they complained that DeJoy policies and procedures were destroying the efficiency of postal service within months of being hired.
