Should blocking roadways in protest allow for drivers to drive through with impunity?

When idiots block any road way in US, should drivers be allowed to play frogger and drive through with impunity? There have been many examples already of this causing blockages far back from the protest of emergency vehicles and or people with emergency situations. In the above example, no doubt hundreds of people lost or spent thousands of dollars on missed flights due to these idiots illegal activities. Im all for it and for those in street should be forced to pay for any vehicle damages. You would see this garbage disappear real quick.

If I fear for my life from the protestors (for example, it's nighttime and they're suddenly swarming my vehicle, or if they're banging on my windows, rocking my vehicle, etc)......yes. You should be able to drive thru.

If they're just sitting in the middle of the road...no. HOWEVER....police then need to be able to drag their assess off the roadway. They shouldn't be allowed to just sit there and cause gridlock. What happens if someone in traffic is having a heart attack? On their way to a job and they get fired if they're late, then potentially can't pay their mortgage? On their way to a court case and a no-show means you get locked up?

The fact that we just allow protestors to sit there for hours and block major freeways is the stupidest thing ever.

No, unfortunately, we can't just run thru people in the street. Although I would probably just creep forward at 3 - 5mph until they moved out of the way if I was going to miss a flight. The blame for this is strictly on leftist city councils and PDs that don't enforce the law and clear the streets. They are allowing this lawless environment that holds people hostage to street takeovers. The reality is that they sympathize with the leftist goons in the street.

Yes you should, especially if you are surrounded. Your right to protest doesn't give you blanket protections from private citizens, especially if you are harassing, threatening or cause undo restrictions on private citizens movement.

Yep, run their asses over.

Realistically, they should go to jail for a long enough amount of time it discourages others, should never been allowed to fyl again (one exception - they can fly to Gitmo, Somalia, or whatever is the sh***est middle-easter country but not return), and I'm good w/stripping their voting rights.

Yes. If you feel that your protest needs to be disruptive and that justified you playing in traffic, my counter protest needs to be just as disruptive and justifies me running your ass over.

The 1st Amendment guarantees the right to peaceably assemble and to redress your government. So, assemble on Federal, State, or local grounds and voice your opinion.

It does not guarantee the right to:
Block highways
Burn cars
Loot businesses
Inhibit travel of citizens
Smash windows
etc...

The second a "protester" starts this crap, arrest them.
When the truth comes out, do not ask me how I knew.

Intentionally blocking roads and impeding traffic for political ends should hold a 1 to 5 year jail sentence.

Anyone doing this should be arrested en mass and taken to jail. Depending on the severity, there should be a 1-5 year price tag.

No you can't hit people with your car unless you are in danger, but police should immediately arrest these political terrorists. If you want to protest, stay out of the street.

the most underutilized response in all these issues are animals. release a skunk, a pit bull, a tiger, i could go on. if you can't run them over and they won't disperse the. release an animal that will take care of the job.
