Are Brooke Rollins and Rick Perry the only Aggies to serve in a Presidential cabinet? I tried to google it but I couldn't find any info. I thought some PolySci grads might know the answer to this question.

Fred McClure served in the White House, but wasn't a cabinet member. He was a Special Assistant for Legislative Affairs for Reagan and Bush 41.

I would like to see the list of former students who didn't serve in the cabinet.

Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

Fred was instrumental in getting Bush to visit A&M and eventually the Bush Presidential Library. Story goes that in days leading up to the announcement of the location of the Library that Fred was seen carrying an A&M football in the White House.
You can't fix stupid.

He was in that role when I met him as a high school senior in the DC suburbs. He was part of what convinced me to go to Texas A&M. Site-unseen.

Met Fred briefly when he was running for student body president, and when he was Ag Aide to Senator John Tower. Probably one of the most effective Aggies ever in politics, and did it working behind the scenes.

Impressive as heck, and really nice guy. My parents worked with him when he was with Tower, and they adored him

I think he had a photographic memory too. I interviewed him for the Batt my Sophomore year and then ran into him on campus almost a year later and he knew my name and asked me about personal things we had discussed at the interview. Really amazing guy.

Yes, years after he met my parents, I spoke to him and he remembered their names and all about them

Back in the day, I saw a news report of George HW Bush hosting a congressional picnic on the White House lawn. As he walked through the crowd, I spotted Fred trailing close behind.

I told my wife that I knew what Fred was doing. I bet he was feeding info to Bush:

"Coming up next is Congressman Sam Foggybottpm of Kentucky's 13tj district. His wife is Susie, his kids are Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and his dog is a Lab named Thumper. He votes with you 80% of the time….etc etc etc

Just like Anne Hathaway's character in Devil Wears Prada
