So for each % on that benefit, the remaining % for that category are not.

FOOD STAMPS
US Born: 25% (75% not on food stamps)
Legal Immigrants: 34% (66% not on food stamps)
Illegals: 48% (52% are not on food stamps)

and this obviously does not count the billions in funding that blue cities are putting up to rent out hotel rooms above market rates and just put whoever in there.

It is the percentage of that group that receives welfare. For example, 59% of illegal-headed households receive some type of welfare. 23% of legal immigrant households receive cash welfare. The columns are not meant to be added together.

Yeah, so this tied in with the other thread about social security....

We need PEOPLE to sustain SS but aren't birthing them anymore. So we have to import them.

Problem is, we're importing people who don't pay in to social security, so what's the point then?

They pretty much have pushed the limits on all of our infrastructure, schools, housing, etc. The cost to our economy has to be staggering to subsidize all of this. They ain't paying for it. Then throw in the capital flight via remittances back home, increased crimes, etc. and you realize we have really screwed this up.

Add in their impact on car insurance rates. Lots of them have no DL and DEFINITELY don't have car insurance, so that cost gets pushed off on the rest of us in higher premiums.

I was also going to add that they're usually crappy drivers on top of that, but honestly I'm not sure they're any worse than your average US citizen living in Houston.

Yup. That's why you often see despondency in these threads. Need a Republican president that can get Congress (both houses) to work with him .

DeSantis did that in Florida at the state level - great leadership, great administration. We need someone to replicate that at the Federal level, otherwise this country is indeed !@#!@. That last person to do this was Reagan.

Trump is too abrasive. There's also the knowledge that he's temporary, and you have to simply wait him out. This is decades of rot. It will need more than 2 years to fix.

I'm going by what Trump told me. He said he will make America great again. And that we will be sick and tired of winning.

I don't see us there at this point. There are indications we are moving in that direction though but progress is slow.


Since Congress has to do everything and Congress is sold out to corporations, Trump is making foreigners jump through impossible hoops to get here. That is a positive but temporary indication. Let us see.

When my relatives immigrated, they weren't allowed into the country if they were considered a public burden.

Now a person will be allowed in IF AND ONLY IF he will be a public burden and a social nuisance.

Recently, I turned east on I-40, at Clines Corners and only made it 4 miles before it turned into a several mile parking lot due to a trucker pile up.

It took three hours to clear that up.
