Wasn't on F16, but one of the ones I was proudest of was an OB post where a guy gave us just a grainy picture of a house his family used to own and a general location in East Texas and I was able to give him an address within about an hour with some careful aerial map searching and google streetmap viewing. There were some funny responses to that too. But the guy deleted the thread (I assume because of the amount of detail about the location that would have enabled doxxing him). I lost a bunch of blue stars when it got deleted.

I had to look it up.

I think number of posts is a little misleading though because you can reply 8 to 10 times or more on one thread.

I'm sure there are some POTD's in there.

I have 9 POTD on F16. I lost at least 5-6 more in the F16 purge.

Sadly, my best post ever didn't get POTD because most of its stars got split over 2 days, and random Premium posts got 300+ each day.

Of which, sure I was one of them since I was all over the Mueller thread and then the election day thread in 2020.

One thread on which I seldom posted was the Q thread, no matter how many times other posters accused me of it. I honestly posted maybe ten times mostly to ask for a clarification on a what? 1100 or 1500 page thread?

I had legal puzzles to solve, not word games. So the Q thread, while somewhat entertaining was not worth my time.

Any POTDs will be on the first couple of pages with a POTD icon by them.

Getting POTD, outside of Premium, is simply dumb luck.

Not only do you have to make a post that is going to get a ton of stars, but there can't be any kind of starring fest going on on Premium. If one notices, more often than not, most if not all of the top 10 posts each day are all on Premium. I guess they pretty much just star each other all day long.

You're also far more likely to get POTD if your reply is the first one, or at least within the first 5.

As for a post with 400-500+ stars not getting POTD, it is for the same reason my top post didn't. Most of the stars were split almost evenly over the course of 2 days, and thread went on for a long time, so it slowly keep accumulating more after that for a week or two.

Don't worry, you don't have any posts of the day. Post of the day is pretty much invariably on premium or politics and it's anti sips or anti liberals

This. I have one POTD and it was for a joke comment on Premium (never bothered to look until this thread honestly). All of my highest starred posts aren't ones I would ever have thought of. It wasn't even on the first page of my most starred posts, been here since the beginning and #72 in Stars overall but never really gave a damn about any of that.

All of my posts are POTD...

Apparently, the rest of y'all use failure metrics....
