This sounds interesting. But nobody will watch it for the same reason nobody watches the decathlon.

If you want to watch high level competition you watch specialists who train in only one event/sport.

But there is part of me that thinks an MMA fight between a swimmer and a baseball player (neither of whom has ever trained wrestling/striking/BJJ) would be funny.

I think the bet is that people will watch for state pride.
