Leadership needs to explain things

One of the biggest irks I have about leaders, whether in business or politics, is a lack of transparency and reasoning for way certain things are the way they are. In my opinion, leadership has a responsibility to explain the decisions and directions they make.

Why doesn't the national debt matter? Why is it so important to import so many migrants from the 3rd world? What is the actual reason we might be going to war with Venezuela? Why could we not cut a lot of the waste DOGE found? These are a few among many questions. The point of this post, though, is that opacity is frustrating and makes people distrust someone.

Trump has success when he speaks plainly to regular people. Politicians, including Trump at times, need to just tell things straight more often.

If they told it straight they would have to tell you they are bought and paid for stooges that have no interest in fixing anything, just getting rich off the problems.

Here we go. Who are our "leaders"? CEOs and Politicians. Two members of the Terrible Trifecta that is infecting America. They both want to get rich off our backs.

You expect too much from "leaders". Most of them are fakes who get up there through connections, scamming, pulling someone else down, and not through sheer merit. The real good leaders may just be around 1%.

So when a large % of leaders are crap, then how can you expect good behavior, logic, morals from them? You cannot.

President Roosevelt started the "fireside chat" model and Reagan revived it during his presidency. It was continued until Trump stopped doing it in his first term. Biden chose not to revive it.

It would (I think) do a lot of good for someone once a week, or biweekly at minimum, to release a radio address/podcast explaining things like "here's what we are doing, here's why, here's our logic..." and IMO it would go a long way.

Take the healthcare debate. Imagine Vance or someone high up in the admin releasing a 15 minute podcast explaining why the supplements need to expire. Have them explain they were passed specifically for Covid, that the money is going straight to health insurers who have jacked up rates every year, that Obamacare has failed in XYZ ways, etc. Have a policy discussion.

Instead, they put out a few tweets and let the Dems control all the narratives.

Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

Agree with the OP and I like the idea of fireside chats via podcast. I would listen to those.

On one of the topics though (Venezuela), they've told us why they are doing it. It's not a secret. It's Monroe Doctrine 2.0. They want Russian, Chinese, and Iranian influence out of the Western Hemisphere. The administration has stated as such and it's in the newly revised Five-Year Defensive Strategy document put out by the DOW.

I'm not sure why everyone continues to ignore this. Whether someone chooses to believe that is the real reason is their own prerogative, but I have no reason to believe otherwise since we don't need VZ's oil.

Also note the Cuba Is Collapsing thread. Taking out VZ simultaneously takes out Cuba which are the two biggest bad actor communist states in the Western Hemisphere. It's a two for one Monroe Special.

Nailed it.

Sadly, this meme could've been used when we invaded any place in the ME.

Are we really doing Venezuela for oil? I'm not an oil guy but everything I've heard from the oil guys on here would lead me to believe

1) Venezuela oil is ****
2) Oil is currently cheap

I don't believe we're doing it because drug narcos, it's pretty far down the list of countries that matter in our new war on drugs.

What's the real reason.

100%. It's also why we are supporting the new regime in Argentina, El Salvador, and Chile. We need to be way more aggressive with both Mexico and Canada too IMO. China has a very strong presence in our hemisphere and that's not good. The leftists in Brazil need to be choked out too. Venezuela made themselves an easy target by shipping oil to ou enemies. No way was Trump going to let that continue.

Love him, or hate him, I'm hopeful for an actual utterance of "**** around, and find out!" from President Trump, in a press conference or in front of the mics while getting on Marine One, etc. before he rides off into the sunset.

Not Presidential? Maybe.

Funny as hell? Absolutely!

I'd rather we have less statements like Biden's silly "Don't" and more videos of narco boats getting blown up and contraband oil cargos confiscated.

Maybe instead of worrying about China's influence in other countries, they should look at the USA with all their land holdings, business that they have a interest in and the number of students they send here to get educated.

I wouldn't use CITGO (which is majority owned by PDVSA), but why Valero?

Absolutely this!
Social media is ok but fails to reach a lot of folks. Plus it's quickly countered by opposition. Do a weekly nationally televised talk with updates on major issues. Bring in your cabinet and experts, look the American people in the eyes and tell them what's going on. Be very specific. Don't disparage people directly. Just state the facts. Trump should be present at all of these but let his people do the talking.

Is CITGO still around though? 7-11 was using them and then dropped them because it got too politically hot.
