Michael Reagan, elder son of former President Ronald Reagan, dies at 80
Quote:

Reagan was a conservative author, nationally syndicated radio talk show host and frequent public speaker who spent decades actively defending and promoting his father's legacy through close involvement with the Reagan Library and Foundation.

He was a patriotic American - chip off the old block.

I have a personal Michael Reagan cool story bro.

I was flying LAX to St Louis on a Monday morning around 2009. It was a slow travel day, so I got a complimentary 1st class upgrade. Sat down in my seat next to a really nice dude who chatted up everyone and helped put bags in the overhead bins. (Didnt recognize him - it was Reagan).

Chatted with him for most of the next two hours. He had gone to Notre Dame HS in Sherman Oaks - in the same general area of LA where I went to public school couple of decades after he was at NDHS. We had a few things in common. He was very very nice.

When we landed, he asked where I was headed (I was going to my company's HQ and mfg plant in Stl for the week). I asked him what he was there for, and he said he was grabbing a car and heading over to Springfield, Ill to the state capital to speak to Republican state reps. At that point I asked him who he was...He said his full name and mentioned his weekly appearances on Megyn Kelly's show on FNC (he was on every Wednesday back then)...I told him I would've ID'd him earlier if he looked like Megyn. We laughed. We went our ways.

He was such a nice chap. Humble. Polite. He never tried to big-league me or anyone on the flight. That's it.

RIP

I enjoyed his radio show back in the day. Seemed like a thoughtful guy who could calmly discuss serious issues.

Best 6 degrees of separation I've got for Michael Reagan is that one night I was in a boutique hotel in Burbank visiting with a friend and he pointed out to me this guy in the corner entertaining a table of folks and he told me that it was Michael Reagan. Of course casually, I looked him up on my phone and sure enough that's who it was.

I've been to that hotel so many times and seen so many recognizable people in there that I can't remember which year it was. I'm pretty sure it was before the scamdemic, while I was living in Australia so probably circa 2018.

Damn, he was a good conservative soldier and did his father's legacy proud. That other son is a POS.

I'm sorry to hear that. He was a good conservative and seemed like a good man. It's ironic that President Reagan's adopted children followed his values and ideals, while his biological children totally rejected them.
