There is a famous movie that recommended never "To go Full ******". Well Timmy never got the message.

"Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said Wednesday the state's National Guard was prepared to deploy if necessary following the fatal shooting of a woman during a federal immigration enforcement operation, saying, "We've never been at war with our federal government."".

This reminds me of the scene in "Crimson Tide" where Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman at the command center.

In my opinion, there is the same potential here who will have the final say in how the Minnesota NG will be used.

The central theme of that film is that its ambiguous who was in the "right." Chain of command should be followed, but sometimes you have to go around. The lines as to who was right/wrong were blurred.

Here, THERE IS NO DEBATE. Walz is in the wrong and escalating a dangerous situation!

It would be like if Denzel started firing off rockets because Hackman wasn't moving fast enough!!

The shift in rhetoric is noteworthy. They're scared the locals will start torching the city again and give the White House an excuse to swell troops with a legit defense under the Insurrection Act (rightly so).

Worth noting the Supreme Court basically said that while the national guard isn't kosher to use for federal law enforcement in states, the Executive has a much higher level of discretion in directing and using the military.

Will be interesting to see this all unfold.

Sad situation, nonetheless. Prayers for those involved.

Well in 1957, Governor Faubus of Arkansas used the National Guard to try and block the segregation of the high school in Little Rock leading President Eisenhower to Federalize them with orders to make sure that the segregation takes place. And it did.

So Walz can send in the troops if he wants.

I disagree. I think their leaders are hoping this is a flashpoint in their favor. They are willing to sacrifice Minneapolis if it means they can turn the tables on western society and capitalism.

Remember that these people hold nothing sacred that you do. Everything is a means to an end. And their end is whichever strain of communism they can get as long as it gets us closer to it.

Agreed with this quote. This is a role of the Federal Govt. and starting some 5 years ago, the Federal Govt. refused to enforce the immigration laws written. I wish Abbott would have sacked up and moved our guard to the border for a showdown of force.

Tampon, has a different situation. He is claiming he does not want our Federal Govt. to enforce the immigration laws. So when he supports the anti law stance, he is bucking the system of peace we have in this country. If he wants the Federal Govt. out of his state then he needs to work with Congress and change the laws. That is how it works.

Back to Abbott, in his situation, the US Constitution clearly identifies the roles of the Federal Govt. in Article 1 Sec 8 and 10. However, the question could be raised about what rights do the states have when the Federal govt. refuses to enforce the laws they are responsible to enforce. And what happens if they claim they are enforcing the law but the state wants more/less enforcement? Abbott should have forced this to the Supreme Court, but he wants to be re-elected to try again.
