Mass protests and rallies are underway in Los Angeles as part of a national "ICE Out" movement a coordinated series of demonstrations against ICE actions and federal immigration enforcement policies. Thousands of people marched in downtown Los Angeles over the past few days, including large gatherings outside City Hall and near federal buildings. Late yesterday evening, clashes broke out in downtown Los Angeles between some protesters and law enforcement. LAPD issued tactical alerts and dispersal orders after objects were thrown and tensions escalated near the Metropolitan Detention Center.

I'm ready for more protest laws. This crap is getting out of control. The fact that people think that they can destroy stuff, harass and hurt people, and still claim that they are protected, "muh 1st amendment rights", is BS. Need to go after the people funding this garbage and throw their sorry asses in jail.

The vandalism and property destruction is already illegal. You don't need new laws. You just need to actually enforce them. There's a reason these people are protesting in very specific localities. They know the local prosecutors will not touch them.

Peretti would still be alive today if they enforced the laws. After his first skirmish with ICE, he should have been arrested and put in prison.

You call it "self inflicting crippling political damage", but the democrats know that it worked on moderates in 2020. Remember the moderates saying "I just want the chaos to stop and for things to go back to normal" to try to justify why they voted for Biden? Most likely he would have been out on bail since we do not, outside extreme cases, hold people people to conviction.

But you're right, the idea of consequences for his actions would have likely toned him and others down. The lack of discipline only emboldens all of them.

Yeah, Trump should go ahead and just call this an insurrection, and send in the necessary forces to beat the morons back..
