I'm losing the best congressman in Chip Roy. How do I evaluate the 12 candidates that are running to replace him when they all say the same thing?

I don't know if he did it on purpose going into it, but Mayor Davis in Dallas switched parties from Dem to Rep. He always governed as the most sensible Democrat I had seen in years and when he changed parties it made sense to me why he did. Otherwise, you are not getting elected as an R in Dallas County almost regardless of what position you are talking about.

In a primary I basically have three amendments that serve as filters and one "like to have". The amendments are the 1st, 2nd and 16th. If you have anything in your campaign or known past that's hostile to the 1st or 2nd you aren't getting my vote. From there I vote for the person that mostly closely hates income taxes as much as I do. The like to have is having owned a business. That's hard and changes your perspective on government in a way having a job doesn't.

In a general I don't vote for Democrats. Ever.
