People only do this because they're incentivized. It's sort of a chicken, egg situation, but I'd be willing to bet the creators of social media knew exactly what they were doing.

To your point, this Doherty guy has been posting since his early youth (from a search he got real popular making object-flipping videos at around 13). Adults are responsible for their own actions, but it's easy to see early fame has warped his mind and priorities. He's a fame addict, and the fact he's gotten money from his addiction isn't helping, either.

I'm not envious of parents of young kids these days. They're having to guard against legal crack everywhere.

Not sure how you solve this. Seems the aggrieved party would need to be able to take damages in excess of the attention "earned" to restore a balance of incentives. Not sure I want to authorize that level of intrusion.

Say a no-name YouTuber pulls a rule-violating stunt which puts him on the map. The entirety of the subsequent influencer earnings can be traced back to that stunt. Should he forfeit the entirety of that domain? How do you disincentivize it if you don't punish to that degree?

Honestly, the way he acted there at the end regarding his ID being so disrespectful and basically telling the guy that he would be in charge of when he got his ID back that would've pissed me off to know end. I know it wasn't an arrestable offense, but I would've kept his ID as long as I damn well wanted.

And he take the whole thing so it's on video. Dumbass.

Doherty has the most punch able face of all YouTubers and that is saying a lot.

He got sued when he started crap with a group of people at a party and had his giant security guy punch someone when he obviously was too big a wuss to do it himself

Yeah, except somebody else could get a credential and he could use that instead or I don't remember people checking IDs at PGA tournaments. Maybe for VIP stuff.

I mean, there's certainly a chance that he could get caught especially since he seems really stupid and would probably video again but there's a lot of people at golf tournaments.

In most states all they can legally do is tell you to leave. You haven't committed a crime until you don't leave when told to. That YouTube guy is a dip**** but I wouldn't have handed over my ID in the first place. You can ban me without my ID.
