It looked like a clip from the reality show that films Customs agents in the US and Canada that aired a few years back. Probably an older video. They often had discussions with travelers just like this.

Birth tourism has been a thing for a long time. Wealthy women view it as a status thing to secure their child dual citizenship. They come from all of the world in order to do that.

But just because their child is born in the US does not mean they get any special treatment. Parents are routinely deported with their children that are born in the US.

Don't even get started on the bridge babies…

Mama sits around south of the bridge until the baby is close, then walks across to go "shopping".

Then falls down and screams.

And the taxpayers of Texas pay for the ambulance , and the hospital, and the kid who still lives south of the border gets his welfare checks sent there. Then when the kid with an American hospital birth certificate is old enough he walks across the bridge every morning to attend school on our dime.

We all pay higher school taxes so they can be "robin hooded" away for the students whose families don't pay a dime of property tax.

I have zero doubt stuff like this happens, just surprised that someone could get that close to an actual interaction of Customs. There are signs all over immigration sections of airports saying no phones. I guess if it were some type of reality TV then it could be legit.

But 100% not doubting it happens.

When I used to arrive at LAX on the early morning flight from Sydney, I would frequently see Chinese national females with children with American passports.

It is a cottage industry in SoCal and everybody knows about it.

If you check the passenger list for MH370, there were 3 Americans.

One was the father of an Aggie.
The other two were Chinese birth tourism children.

It's not the law. The 14th amendment can be interpreted both ways depending on how you read "subject to the jurisdiction thereof". I don't believe a baby born to citizens of another country here on a visa is subject to the jurisdiction of the United States

Happens all the time. Get on a flight from LAX or SFO back to China, HK, Taiwan, Singapore. A fourth of the plane is newborns and their mothers going back home to Chyna. Frustrating isnt close to what I feel when I see it.

Glenn Beck talked about this - it is a crazy number of Chinese babies being born in US each year - thousands. And it is deliberate.

Spoke with a United pilot who did overseas flights to Africa and coming back he'd see 8-9 month pregnant ladies board to come over to the US. He tried to say something everytime - that's not exactly safe if they go into labor and can't turn around. But they would argue and say they were only 4 months pregnant. And next thing you know you had a brand new American citizen.
