Forbes reports that Binance now holds $4.7 billion of the $5.4 billion supply of Trump's World Liberty Financial stablecoin. That is 87%. It is the largest (in $ value) corruption scandal in the history of the US presidency.

Binance founder Changpeng Zhoa was pardoned in October 2025.

He didn't just take a financial position in Trump's personal financial instrument, he bought the whole darn thing. Guy is worth around $75B for context.

He had pleaded guilty to the charges of international money laundering that potentially included funding of Hamas (FBI info but not proved at this point).

If they made corruption illegal nobody would run for office. There wouldn't be enough money in it. Trump just does it bigger and better than anybody that came before him and he signs it with a gold sharpie.

I remember him. I believe it should go for all presidential pardons. That one included.

I completely agree with you, it's amazing we let our "elected leaders" openly rob us blind. And then some of us even cheer them on.

The remedy is impeachment. But neither party wants to cross that bridge because they want their person to have unfettered pardon power when their person is in office.

The whole damn Congress is for sale and Congress made sure it's legal. Campaigns contributions are bribes. Kickbacks to congressmen for government money are bribes. Insider trading for congressmen is legal but Martha Stewart went to prison for doing 1/one millionth of what Navy Pelosi has done.

Our country is run by crooks, buffoons and too few good men. Trump at least he ant stealing our taxpayer money like all these politicians getting kickbacks from all the NGO money theft

Yes, some people would run. We would have politicians that are less corrupt but also not as smart.

In a perfect world, we would make it really, really hard for politicians to be corrupt, and pay them something like $1M to $5M / yr. It would save taxpayers a huge amount of money.

It would be really difficult to do, and most people would cheat, but the level of cheating would go way down. Because people are always smarter and faster than the legislative process, the only way to reduce the amount of corruption is to disseminate power out of DC and into the states.

I do have a dream though where it is illegal for the political class to be in possession of money or assets, and all of that is held by the federal government. All of the spending that you do is on the government debit card, and the financial information is the property of the US government. If you are an elected politician and it is discovered that you possess or control assets or money, the government confiscates it and you go to jail.

Complete pipe dream, but the only way I can think of to reduce corruption significantly. This would be a lot easier to do with a federal crypto currency that has an audit trail, which is why I think such a thing will never be fully adopted by the US Government.

We don't have any proof that the sale of the crypo currency was related to the pardon. If your standard of proof is that there was a financial transaction and then a pardon, then proving that pardons have been for sale by former US Presidents would be really easy to do.

Or, is the burden of proof for Trump really, really low, and the burden of proof for others really, really high. Because that is what I would expect from TDSers.

I think the easy way to fix all this is to require any pardon to be limited to a specific crime and the pardon should have to name it. These "I pardon person X for any and all crimes from 199x to 202x" deals are BS. If they are going to receive a get out of jail free card, we should be told what they would have otherwise gone to jail for.

Yep. It's an obvious conduit for corruption and it's hard to argue its benefit outweighs its abuse.

Serious reform is way overdue.

For better or worse, the pardon power is plenary and has very few limits. Since its basis is the Constitution, to place additional limits on the power you would have to amend the Constitution. I wouldn't be too sad if it happened, but I think it unlikely.

Our politicians reflect the electorate.

The further we violate James Madison's caution, the more "rules" seem necessary.

An ever expanding book of rules is just treating symptoms. Curing the disease would require a significant filtering restriction on the suffrage.

Trump is actually employing the pardon power as intended. Biden implemented mass lawfare not just against MAGA and Trump but against anybody seen as even the remotest of threat to the admin and their puppy masters.
