Solid dad move...if I miss my little girl after spending some time away, no politician or celeb is going to get in my way of seeing her. Snuggling your child, or having them sprint to your arms as they yell "daddy!" when you get home, is worth 1000x more than shaking any president's hand or touring any building on the planet. Even moreso when you are bummed out about other stuff. Not sure anyting in this life comes close.

Nah man, they've always been huge womens' hockey fans. Bad Bunny too...always been HUGE fans of both. It's not a weird political "flex" at all.
I really don't care who went and who didn't. Many people do have good reasons for not going same with the women. Maybe they did all have engagements. I mean, they barely got back from Italy.
It's really the ones that come out as a whole team and make such a political statement about not going. I mean, I doubt I would've been excited about going with Biden there, but it is the president.

His Stars contract is worth $66mm over eight years...so money is no issue.
I'm not second guessing anyone here. Just sayin' I'd be with the team in the oval office - with Trump and at the joint session. He'll never ever get that opportunity again. Chauffeurs and private jets to manage the inconvenience.

Either way, i would prefer him to lock tf in. While the Stars all but assured of the playoffs, its time to reach the finals instead of being eliminated in the WCF again.
Maybe after a month of down time where his mind wasn't focused on playing (since he was the backup Goalie) he just missed his infant child?

But yeah, he should've gone to the SOTU and have no apologies for it. I'm a big Stars fan and don't like his contract anyway (reminds me of Dak's) but I would've given him props if he went and not worry about it. He's no Helle and it shows, that's why he didn't play.
I get missing the little kids but 24 hours at their age doesn't make a difference. Think logically instead of emotionally and you'll go farther.
Of course the psychos on you know where are so excited he didn't go.

Their call. Obviously Otter made his and that's fine, and I'm glad that a lot of the players went. I wish he was one of them.

I'd love to see it, 1999 was too long ago.
I never paid attention to hockey until 1998 when I happened upon some Stars games on TV during the playoffs at some gatherings and saw how cool it was. Then I followed the 98-99 season and I've been a huge fan ever since. Never gave up watching through all these years.

This here, but as a dad with grown kids, it happens fast and any extra time is special especially when this guy travels for his job.

They all got a tour of the WH as part of the trip, including attending SOTU. It's a once in a lifetime experience for most of the members of the team!

Tour of the WH, including pictures in the Oval Office with Trump was all part of the experience that was capped off by attending SOTU.
Not to mentioned dinning in the WH, feasting on McDonals.
