Yes, pretty funny, but imho CNN is functionally irrelevant at this point. They just don't matter, and won't in the future.

Add, CNN is an enemy of the republic, and should be treated as such, unless/until they no longer are.

ETA: I would love to see Amanpour fired the second this deal closes.

One of my step-daughters works for Warner Brothers-Discovery. She's a flaming liberal...who is rather upset at the moment.

Weeks ago, I told my wife I thought Paramount's purchase of WBD would flip CNN into a Fox clone. I also told her this might be great as Rupert Murdoch has placed his ownership of Fox into an irrevocable trust for his four adult children. Only one problem...the heirs are left of center. From my perspective, after Murdoch dies, Fox may transition, which is why I thought Paramount's purchase of WBD would be great for conservatives.

I shared my thoughts with my step-daughter. She thought I was nuts, and even mentioned CNN already has journalistic integrity. I laughed, which really angered her.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

If they did, they wouldn't be worried about losing their jobs in this takeover. But as you correctly told her, they are biased left wing shills which is why it scares them ****less that they might be learning to code soon.

My liberal friend got all upset about this until I asked her why. I told her she doesn't watch CNN, and never did. She doesn't watch HBO or anything on Paramount either. I then asked her if she was only getting upset because of politics. She eventually said that's the only reason and I told her to grow up and get over herself.

With regards to Fox and the heirs, if the heirs wanted to come in and transform Fox they would be doing so by destroying the #1 Cable News Network, by a large margin. Unless they are going to do it out of spite, I would guess they wouldn't want to destroy their cash cow. Time will tell, but who knows.

Can't quote the source, but a few months ago I read that Rupert Murdoch attempted to terminate the irrevocable trust. He was not successful. When I read that I thought it might mean the heirs would change the format of both Fox and the NY Post.

I guess time will tell.

It really doesn't change anything. Nobody watches TV news anymore, and substack is methodically taking over long form investigative reporting. AI, with its ability to speed crawl half the internet and summarize lots of sources, makes the problem much worse. So, CNN faces a bigger problem than anger over it's crappy reporting. It faces apathy. The grand majority of people have moved on from that format and they're never going back.

There's probably room for a few banner names even in a fragmented reporting world, but not many.

I think this could be a game changer in one respect, airports, lobbies, and public waiting areas where I see way more CNN than I do Fox News. Most people are on their phones or having conversations with friends/family, so I'm not saying it's a big deal but if the only thing you saw about a big event was slanted in such a way to make Trump, conservatives, republicans look bad you may form a certain opinion before you ever have a chance to learn the facts. Kinda like Trump illegally removes a foreign leader (ie Maduro) vs Arrest warrant successfully executed for foreign dictator accused of drug trafficking, extortion and murder.

Bari Weiss stands a good chance of transforming CBS news into a legit outfit, replacing narratives that focus on "men can have babies" and "borders are racist" bull**** with "what's the role of the government?"

Before today (February 27, 2026), Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) was a publicly traded company owned by its shareholders.

The company was formed on April 8, 2022, when AT&T (the previous owner of WarnerMedia) spun off the division to merge it with Discovery, Inc.

In this deal, AT&T shareholders initially owned approximately 71% of the new entity, while Discovery shareholders held the remaining 29%
