Good. Anything that squeezes out the influence of the Ivy League's influence from the military or anywhere else is a good thing.

Why wouldn't it? He's not banning them from going on their own dime. He's ending military fellowships and such that are part of professional military education and paid for by the military.

the irony of course being that hegseth holds two degrees from princeton and harvard, and elite military conservatives will continue attending and sending their children to these schools despite public handwringing about wokeness and indoctrination

The commie hippies got exactly what they wanted after they burned down ROTC buildings on college campuses during the anti-Vietnam War period. It wasn't that long ago that ROTC returned without a welcome and plenty of protests to Ivy League schools. I don't see any legal problem with making a policy that is in harmony with what the leftist radicals claimed they have wanted all along.

Of course, they really want to infect military students with leftist elites thinking by socializing them among the old money left. Maybe he was always a leftist but I believe the Ivy club social circles is how you get retired four stars running Brookings and other globalist think tanks.

Then they are ignorant or just hoping their kids make it through without getting brainwashed and can then still leverage the elitist networking.

All is not lost in the Ivies, but there is nothing ironic here. I've worked on initiatives with Conservative alumni at Ivies and am still working on initiatives with them. I have many friends and acquaintances that both served in the military and have Ivy degrees. Much like A&M the difference between the institutions in the 1990s and early 00s through around 2010 is very different from around 2012 onward. It's all relative of course when it comes to A&M vs Ivies but the cultural shifts are the same direction.

The biggest difference among the Ancient Eight is Princeton. Princeton still had a very strong and potent conservative contingent within both faculty and student body as late at 2010-2012. They still exist today but the percentage is much smaller.

Why?

Because radical faculty and students in these institutions began to play hard ball in different ways around 2012. Old school liberals in these institutions have retired in droves over the last 20 years, and their replacements are not old school libs.

Conservative alumni from the 80s and 90s with very intelligent children began looking for their kids to go elsewhere. Thus the rise of northeast elite conservative families children applying to SEC schools and even schools like Liberty which would have been unheard of by Ivy Alums just 15 years ago.

With this shift comes a shift in values and beliefs about America and the military at these schools. Again, it's not that radicals haven't always been in these places with lots of power over the last 100 years. It's just that the more conservative and old school liberal contingency has started to rapidly disappear among faculty and administration.

So no, it's not ironic. The indoctrination going on in these institutions is very real and while I'm not a proponent of conservatives retreating from these institutions I have had a front row seat to families with acceptance letters and sports recruitment letters from the Ivies, choosing more conservative cultures in southern schools over the last ten years, even rejecting their kids going to their own Alma maters. It is happening at A&M as well.

I'm happy to add Ivy League schools to the list.

They literally institutionalize insanity and call it "education". Honestly its nothing new. Low grade propaganda in new and expensive packaging.

USSF just started the Captains Leadership Course at A&M. I'm sure there's plenty of space to accommodate additional PME courses.
