Wanted to make a thread to bring all of the speculation about production and inventory out of the updates thread. Also wanted to discuss here what steps need to happen for us to truly be independently secure.

Many of these are going to be pipedreams unless there are fundamental changes in how we view our security as a nation.
We have to reshore manufacturing. Not just token things but everything we need must be made here.
We need to have the ability to manufacture good equipment in mass quantities. see ww2 approach.
We have to secure medical/pharmaceutical needs and manufacturing
We have to secure rare earths and all of our electronic needs here at home.

What else you got?

Well, from the Iran tactical update thread (and the Ukraine one before that), it sounds like a drone warfare skunkworks is an idea whose time has arrived.

Think something like the SHOT Show meets the Manhattan Project.

That's an interesting point. Widen the input on ideas for how to do things. "thinking outside the box" so to speak

End the filibuster and pass the SAVE act (and other democracy saving bills).

Without that, nothing else will matter. The Dems are not interested in anything else you have posted.

Arkansas has quite a bit of munitions manufacturing. We need to support those areas and make it more desirable to be there. I've heard through the grapevine that it is difficult to replace that workforce.

That is a big part of this...we need the people with the ability and expertise to do these things

Until these systems mature the military needs to push drone purchasing decisions down to individual unit commanders and let the best units and drones win.

Ukraine introduced a form of free markets to drone procurement, allowing individual squads to order the drones of their choice (from a catalog of drones) using the points they earned for each KIA or equipment disablement they achieved. The points system ensures the army as a whole sets the right priorities while the catalog ordering system ensures the individual units have the right mix of drones for their sector.
