Haven't been a fan of Cornyn since his gang of 8 amnesty bill that he signed on during the Obama admin, really before then.

I probably agree with a lot of what Paxton wants but he has a less than stellar reputation.

I wouldn't be overly confident in a Paxton win in November. Dems are motivated and he's just the candidate to help that motivation. I'm voting Hunt but will be forced to vote for Cornyn in November.

Agree that a long-term replacement is prefered but Paxton for 6 years is fine.

I will be glad when today is over and conservative A can quit calling conservative B a liberal as a means to get a paycheck and state benefits.

I am no Cornyn fan at all and he needs to go. I see this primary as: Cornyn wins seat stays R, Paxton wins seats probably stays R, Hunt wins seat flips is a real possibility. Until Voter ID, the census and the Supreme Court decides the voting rights act case (Louisiana v. Callais) all get settled we need as many R's in congress as possible to keep moving Trump's and the republican agenda moving forward.

cornyn spent $70M on a primary and might not even make a run off. He's finished unless democrats want to vote for him. The fact he isnt the clear #1 with that kind of spending is an indictment of him.

However, he is a moderate in the sense that he is right in the middle of a range of conservative ideology, number 26, ranging from Rick Scott of Florida, who is a 1 on their ideology score, all the way down to those I call RINOs - Romney (69), Paul (66), Murkowski (52) and Collins (49). Of course this is just one website, but I think their measure is about right.

Yep, much so. They have a bit of a unique methodology, copied below, based on bill sponsorship which I think would mislabel Paul since he is more of a libertarian.
