It seems that Canada has changed its laws about citizenship, making a lot of Americans considering leaving and becoming Canadian.

And if they do leave, they should not be allowed back.

As the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for for you just might get it.

And just like that, an easier path for the American Socialist wannabe has an open door to jump right into the Socialist Hell they pine for so much.

Don't let the door hit 'ya where the good Lord split 'ya.

GTFO.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I thought for a second this thread was about the U.S. leaving nato. Really got my hopes up OP.

This too is good news, let the vial liberals go live in Canada. Should be placed on their passports no refunds or exchanges except for hot conservative Canadian females.
Can't decide if I want to be cute & cuddly, or go blow some sh*t up.
Decisions decisions.

We should encourage everyone and anyone who is upset with conservatives in this country to move to Canada or anywhere else. But that's it; once the decision is done you're out. Bet that would get a lot of these bloviators to go silent.

Won't ever happen. They are too proud of their ignorance.

Quote:

The 52-year-old tells CNN Travel she is a leader of a local Democratic Committee in a suburb of Rochester, N.Y., and worries that she might have a target on her back if political violence escalates. She claims that she's already received threats on social media and was once followed home after a protest.

Could these idiots possibly inflate their self-importance any further?

If they become Canadians then they should be required to denounce their US citizenship.

They will likely still be eligible to vote in U.S. Federal elections if they move and any local elections if they stay. Both the U.S. and Canada allow for dual citizenship.

The law in Canada is basically saying those affected were Canadian when they were born. I mean this is what conservatives want right? This is Jus sanguinis just retro actively applied.

Duel citizenship should be abolished.
Each person should give their loyalty and votes to only one country.

If you want to become a US citizen then you should relinquish your citizenship from your previous country. Likewise, if you wish to leave the country and become a citizen of another country, you should no longer have the benefits of being a citizen of the United States.

Changing citizenship should be a difficult decision. Dual citizenship just makes citizenship in any country less significant.

It does however reduce patriotism and love of your country, something the globalists like to see.

That's great until you calculate the cost of renouncing U.S. citizenship. The U.S. severely punishes those who wish to renounce it. Seems a bit unfair no?

Short term this sounds great, since we'd lose the dims.

Long term, do we really want the Canadians going even further left? At some point, I can see a commie taking hold of them and we'll have a legit adversary to our northern border. I never could have even contemplated that twenty years ago.

I have relatives in Canada. They tell me how the Liberals have ruined the country letting in untold numbers of immigrants and housing has gone through the roof.

When I was a youngster (~12 yrs old), a friend was a dual US/Canadian citizen. I do not remember if his mother was Canadian when he was born or if he was born in Canada with American parents. At the time dual citizenship wasn't allowed. He said that when he turned 16 he would have to choose.

At the time he lived in the US and his parents were US citizens. He said that it was an easy decision to renounce the Canadian citizenship and keep the US citizenship.

In this situation, there was no cost to renounce one of the citizenships because he had no control over his situation.

The situation of minors with dual citizenship wasn't a problem prior to dual citizenship. It shouldn't be had to do now.

Nope. It's not unfair at all.

As BuddysBud said below, there is typically no penalty when a country requires a person to renounce a citizenship in a dual birthright citizenship situation.

I know a girl that wants to move to Canada. Yes, she's ultra-liberal and wants the government to take care of her. I didn't even try to talk her out of it. Good luck.
I hope I did not offend anybody with this post. If I did, please come see me at my address in my profile so we can talk.

Yep they were publicly begging people to give them a place to rent below market value since they can't afford what they want and were shocked to find out they couldn't work under the temporary visa or utilize the "free" services.
